York high effenciency furnace not firing all the time
I have a York high efficiency furnace that is not firing all the the time. The unit is about 4 to 5 years old & has been doing this for a few months now and getting progressively worse. (model # GM9S08B12DH11G) The trouble code light inside is blinking a rapid red, indicating a Twinning Error, Incorrect 24V Phasing.

Re: York high effenciency furnace not firing all the time
Has anyone worked on this furnace because the error would indicate that the positive 120 volt and the neg 120 volt is swapped , these units will also do this when the ground wire to the furnace or gas valve or furnace or @ the panel is lose , corroded , or missing , the gnd must be present to open valve , I am aware that ac is is not usually polarity sensitive but in this case it most certainly is ...have seen many time and know it to be true

Two stage hot air furnaces can save you money and make your high efficiency furnace even better. With your furnace running at low fire instead of cranking up to the highest heating output in mild weather you can be more comfortable while saving money.
Many people think that they are getting the best they can get by buying a high efficiency single stage furnace. What they often don’t realize is that they could do better yet and for a few dollars more have a high efficiency 2 stage furnace that could keep them much more comfortable.
There are 2 stage hot air furnaces that are now available that will only run at half fire if the full fire is not needed. With a two stage furnace in mild weather when only a little bit of heat is needed, the furnace will have longer run times on low fire. This will keep you room temperatures from getting too hot before the thermostat reacts and shuts the furnace off again. This will help to keep your temperatures from overshooting the set point and help to keep your home much more comfortable.
Many of these two stage furnaces also have variable speed blowers that run at a lower speed when heating on low fire. This will also help to save money on your electric bill, because these blowers use very little electric when running at these low speeds. Air noise from the blower running at a high speed is also reduced.
If you are thinking of replacing or installing a hot air furnace, make sure that you ask your contractor to give you a price on installing a two stage furnace. The price difference probably will not be much higher than a high efficiency single stage furnace. However the comfort of the two stage furnace coupled with the electric savings will make the extra money well worth it.

I can't tell by the picture your showing if it's a mid efficiency or the pilot stand by if it's mid efficiency furnace then there's a reset button if the other it sounds like your high and low limit switches are not in sink to each other ,should be able to find out how to set on the internet if not that then check your thermostat
Well, it is a computer, and they all glitch, now & then, you say it clears with a power off, and thus resets it, It maybe a thermostat, flaking out, they do that, but the 6'o'clock, thing being the "Or" that sets it apart, I wonder if it isn't just a faulty control unit, as two together is too many, for a single cause, now, it sort of points there, but also, may sound silly but first, of there is any, Check your backup battery..
Check the condensate pump if it is full of water and does not come on that will shut the unit down. And might need a new pump. high efficiency furnaces condensate to squeeze the last amount of heat out of the unit. Seen this problem before. But not being there is a little chance that, that is the problem. let me know and we can go from there. okay ken
