Question about Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse

Microsoft Wireless Keyboard Slow and Intermittent

My new Microsoft wireless optical keyboard (usb connection) sometimes works, and other times it is at a standstill. No matter how firmly a key is touched, nothing happens. Frequently after striking control+C to copy, nothing is selected, and nothing is copied, much less the control+V key to paste is ineffective. What is this due to? How can it be fixed?

Thanks...the Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 shows a round 2.4 GHz wireless mini-transceiver (connects keyboard to system 'out of the box') on the box, but there was not one inside the box. The installation directions do not show this device, but only the usb device for the mouse. I think perhaps the tiny white button on the underside of the keyboard needs to be pushed? How often? Thanks for continued support.

It can be a couple of things. 1. Try replacing the keyboard & mouse's batteries with fresh batteries. 2. Try moving the wireless receiver closer to the keyboard. 3. Make sure the receiver is not located too close to other electronics like a tv or dvd player. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer.

The usb device is the transceiver. Make sure it is always plugged into a usb port. If you have a cordless 2.4ghz phone system make sure it is located away from the computer as it could cause interference with the keyboard. Make sure there is a pretty much open line of sight between keyboard & computer. White button is for trying to establish a new connection to the board from transceiver when it's lost. Hope this helps.

Yes! My keyboard started to respond very slowly since a few weeks ago. I tried everything. It turned out that the problem was a brand new Cordless Phone 2.4 ghz that I had installed recently in my office. Solved!

The keyboard is not working. Nothing comes out

I don't know your level of technical experience, so some of these may seem obvious. These may not be in the best order, I've added them as I thought of them.
1) check the batteries in the keyboard and mouse. They can go through batteries in a big hurry sometimes. If just changed double check polarity.
2) check the connection(s) for the receiver. If you have pets check for chewed wires.
3) have you added any new USB devices. They may be using to much power from your USB ports
4) have you added any other wireless devices, includes non-computer devices.
5) have you tried resetting the keyboard and receiver signal.
6) check USB power output. You can plug in a different USB device and see if it works.
7) does your receiver require batteries (very rare).
8) you may need to reinstall your keyboard drivers and software.
Most wireless keyboards operate in the 400 Mhz range so do most wireless networks and many phones, these can all interfer with your signal.

Microsoft wireless keyboard 700 v2-0 not working

Your keyboard MS 700 v2.0 needs a USB receiver to work. They are pert of set. You may also have a wireless mouse MS-700 that is also part of this set.
1. Do you have the receiver ? This has a USB connector that must plugged in to your PC's USB port
2. Are the batteries in your keyboard dead ? If so change them for fresh ones
Then proceed with the instructions in the Quick Start Guide which can be found from this webpage
Microsoft Hardware
Note the light on the receiver only flashes when you press the 'connect' button. At all other times it is normally out. There usually no lights on the keyboard. You should not need extra drivers as they part of the OS if you are using Windows XP or 7.

If you still have problems see
Your wireless mouse or keyboard does not respond or you receive The...

My wireless mouse freezes

I had a similar freezing problem with a wireless Logitech mouse and also a problem with the wireless keyboard, sometimes keystrokes would not register and sometimes they'd repeat a dozen times.
I was not able to fix the problem, so I got a Microsoft wireless mouse and keyboard, hoping it was a driver conflict that wouldn't affect both products. Wrong. The exact same thing happened to the Microsoft mouse and keyboard.
The cause of the problem turned out be that I had the receiver plugged into a USB hub along with several other devices. Moving the receiver to one of the USB ports in the back of the PC fixed the problem.
Apparently these wireless desktop devices don't like sharing USB resources with anything else.

Wireless Multimedia keyboard volume keys won't work.

Go to start and run then type services.msc or if using windows 7 just go to start and type services.msc in the search box. Once open find the service "Human Interface Device Access". Change it from manual to automatic and make sure that it is started.
