My brusg stopped turning after sucking up a shoe

Hi There is a reset switch on your Dyson that needs to be pressed when something gets stuck in the brushes. The reset switch helps protect the motor that spins the brush from damaging if something gets stuck inside the brushes. There is a little red pole that sits up behind the brushes on the vacuum head, I believe it's on the left side of the floor head as if you were behind the machine vacuuming. Try pushing this reset switch first. Did this fix your problem? If no, please let me know and I'll be more then happy to do some more advanced diagnosing with you.

I have a Dyson Animal that the on/off switch is stuck in the on position. I can only turn it off by unplugging it. How can I fix it?

A squirt of WD40 and a bit of joggling might help if it is just binding. I have had a look at mine and it is getting a bit sticky! However if the fault is mechical then that probably means changing it.

Dyson dc14 power button

I just had this same problem tonight. As I was looking on this sight to find a solution, my husband fixed it. First he removed the extended handle part, then he took the 2 screws out behind the power switch and removed the front cover (directly underneath the power button). He then removed the plastic power switch cover and took the power leads off the switch and removed the switch and tapped on it, then the little button stuck in place:) Sounds silly but it worked! Good luck!

My NEW dirt devil with hepa made for animal hair will NOT turn off as the switch is stuck. I hate this vacuum. Help please

Take it back. Usually when this happens it means the switch has shorted out, which can be a big fire hazard. If you feel like performing a repair; a switch replacement is relatively simple: but if it's truly "new" it should be covered under warranty, and attempting to fix it yourself will void your warranty and give you no recourse.

Hoover Hush Series Central Vac won't turn on

If the low voltage wires are hooked up to it, then you probably have a stuck relay inside the cannister. It could also be the switch in the hose handle.
