F2 reading and steady beeping sound on GE spectra oven after oven has been on.....how do i fix

The F2 error code is for the temp sensor. The temp sensor is mounted inside the oven cavity & regulates the oven set temperature. If the temp sensor fails the oven could overheat. This is what generates the error codes. I recommend having the temp sensor checked with an ohm meter, at room temperature the sensor should ohm out at approx 1100 ohms. If the sensor checks ok, then the control will need to be replaced.

My ge xl44 gas range, installed in 2000, turns off and flashes an f2 code occasionally. Can you give me the reason?

F2 means: For an unknown reason, the oven temperature has exceeded a preset threshold.

G.E. recommends you try this:

Sometimes shutting off the circuit breaker that the range or oven is connected to for 30 seconds will clear the fault, error or function code, however there are some cases when further service may be required. If you would like to schedule a service appointment, please contact GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737

My ge electric range keeps on beeping f2

The F2 error code means: For an unknown reason, the oven temperature has exceeded a preset threshold.

This is GE's recommendation:
Before Calling Service, you can try the following...

Sometimes shutting off the circuit breaker that the range or oven is connected to for 30 seconds will clear the fault, error or function code, however there are some cases when further service may be required. If you would like to schedule a service appointment, please contact GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737 or schedule a service appointment on-line.

GE does recommend turning the range or oven off at the breaker until you have it serviced. It is okay to cycle the breaker and turn the range or oven back on long enough to use the surface units. Be sure to turn the range or oven off at the breaker again when you have finished.

The f2 keeps beeping. How do I turn this off

"F2" on most GE ranges is caused by a fault in the oven temperature circuit. Depending on model, this could mean a defective oven temperature sensor, a stalled (or faulty cooling fan-if equipped), or a BAKE relay contact on the Electronic Range Control (ERC) board that has welded (shorted) together. The easiest thing to start with first is to UNPLUG the range and check your oven temperature sensor resistance. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r393313-checking_replacing_oven_probe

If you do not have a cooling fan on your model, more than likely you have a problem with the oven temperature sensor, or the ERC bake circuit. If the sensor checks good, your ERC needs replaced.

If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

PS Unfortunately, when these error codes appear, they usually cannot be defeated. This is a safety feature that warns (or prevents) the consumer from using the appliance in a potentially unsafe condition.

Ge oven codes

F2 means your oven temp got too high. At least, that's what the control boards thinks. More than likely you have a bad oven sensor or bad wire to it or a bad connection somewhere between the board and sensor.

an f2 code means the oven overheated.it could be a bad relay on the control board. also if you ran a self clean cycle and left the racks in the oven,i've heard it could cause problems with the oven sensor.
