Question about Televison & Video
When i switch my tv into standyby i have to switch it off by the plug or the main power button on the back of the tv to get it to switch back on, as it's wall mounted having to reach around the back of the tv everytime i want to knock it on or off is causing a problem, it's a dual dlcd32-21 and it also sometimes comes up with grainy colours or negative which switching off then back on again resolves

Sounds like the power supply may be going out, or check and see if there is a circuit breaker button on the back. Otherwise there may e a blown fuse that is internal. Don't open the back unless you have training on what is safe to touch as the picture tube can maintain a HUGE electrical charge that can stop your heart if you accidently touch the wrong thing. Sounds like a weak power supply tho. Jay

SOURCE: cant switch it on!
Sounds very much like a main power supply that needs a 'kick' to start up. This is often caused by the loss of value of a capacitor in the power supply, one that handles feedback to start the supply initially and carries the signal to shut it down in case of a circuit fault in one of the areas the supply services. Inadequate feedback will make the supply unable to start properly and more likely to shut down even though no fault condition exists. If I'm right, it will get worse and searching for the problem requires an instrument not found in the average home; a capacitance meter with loss measuring capabilities.
