Yes you can check and see if it is disabled. Just click on Start>Control Panel, the depending on what operating system you are using it will be under Mouse or Pointing Device. Click on that to open and it will tell you if it is disabled. If it is not disabled then send me a comment and we'll try something else.

A105-s4384 touchpad controls won't show up in mouse options

I would re install the touch pad driver. Go to Toshiba.com, select your country and find your laptop. Select support and download drivers. Whilst there download the latest drivers for everything.

Unlock scroll key

Toshiba laptop computers use multi-function touchpads, which often have software features added to the touchpad manufacturer's basic package. If your Toshiba laptop's touchpad won't scroll but its other functions are working, you may simply need to adjust your settings. If the problem occurs suddenly, try restarting your computer before resorting to other methods. Sometimes the addition of new software or other features can interfere temporarily with the touchpad driver, interrupting the scrolling feature. If a simple restart does not restore your touchpad's scrolling feature, check its properties through the control panel. The exact options for doing so will vary by laptop model and operating system.

Click "Start," then "Control Panel." Navigate to "Mouse," which may be under "Hardware and sound" or a similar category, depending on your operating system. Select the "Touchpad" tab in the "Mouse" window. This tab will also list the touchpad manufacturer, most often Synaptics on Toshiba computers. If you have more than one built-in pointing device, as is the case with the touchscreen model Toshiba Portege series, choose the "Hardware" tab and select your touchpad, then click "Settings." Select "Properties," "Settings," "Advanced" or the similar option on your system. Click the box next to "Enable scrolling" if this option is available. For Synaptics touchpads, you may have a list of options; click the arrow to the right of "Scrolling" to open the scrolling list and select one-finger or two-finger scrolling to access the specific features. Click to enable any scrolling features you desire, then select "Adjust scrolling region" or the similar option, if available. Drag the scrolling region to cover a larger portion of the touchpad if you want to ensure you can scroll easily. Click "Ok" to apply any changes and close the options windows. Keep clicking "Ok" until all of the windows with this option are closed. Restart your computer if prompted. Your scrolling feature should be enabled.

Toshiba Satellite L675d-s7040 touchpad scroll not working

The problem is the sensor pad, cracked ribbon wire, or the ribbon cable is not properly attached to the plug on the motherboard.

Hi

You could try pressing the FN+F9 keys together and see if this helps

one of my toshiba laptops is Fn+F9 also there is a Scroll Lock and a NumLock which can be enabled/disabled while using the corresponding key with the Fn key

On some laptops there is a picture of what looks like a small hand this key is normally the touchpad key

hope this helps you

do you have your user manual it may be found in your programes or you can download one from the toshiba offical website and you will need adobe reader installed to be able to read it

I want to turn off the scrolling function on the touchpad. The pad is too small for this function and it gets in the way of trying to move the mouse around

Hello,

To disable the scroll function go to mouse properties;click device settings;click settings;expand overview;and you will see the scroll option, that's where you can disable it.

Hope this works.

“Hi let’s see if we can fix this problem”
I. “To “Enable” the Pointer Device using the Touch-Pad, go to, Control Panel, click (“Mouse) in the “Hardware and Sound” category; go to, “Device Settings” in the (Devices) block.
II. “Highlight”; the item you want to (enable) this being the “Pointer Device.” Click the (Enable) button, just below. Be sure to (Click) on the “Apply” button, and click OK.
III. You may need to “Update Drivers?” Click on “Hardware, click “Properties,” click, on Driver.” If the, Update Driver (block) is not “Grayed-out” click “Update Driver”, click (OK), this will ensure that the application take effect.
Note: Restarting the computer will configure system changes in the computer applications to prevent errors, and to finalize the (Installing / Uninstalling) of programs, and or (Enabling / Disabling) of Hardware.
Hope this Fix it.

My touchpad it keeps scrolling, can I turn this off?

there should be a button/switch on the front or near the touchpad it self to disable it when not in use.

Or check control panel>mouse for additional touchpad settings

make sure u have the latest drivers installed http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=SB&os=&category=&moid=2234110&rpn=PSMD8U&modelFilter=+M305-S4915&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768663

Scroll function on my Toshiba Satellite TouchPad isn't working

I would go to this link and select your device and download the driver/software for your device. Try to reinstall the driver/software.

Note:
Fn-F9 is a hot key combination that will enable/disable the touchpad.

Touchpad scroll not working

Check to see that the program is still installed that manages that feature:

"C:\Program Files\Apoint2K\Appoint.exe"

If it still exists, you need to run that EXE to get scrolling back. To make sure this happens automatically at start-up, add a shortcut to the "StartUp" menu of Programs\All Users, or run msconfig and ensure it is enabled in the Startup section.

If it does not exist, you need to reinstall dual-pointing device (or whatever touchpad you have) from the Toshiba website, for your specific PC.
