It is wireless probably because there is a small usb dongle plugged into your laptop or it is blue tooth/wifi. It will possibly work with other machines if you use the dongle or pair the blue tooth or set up the wifi.
For the model # VGNCR320E/P, Sony has not released XP Drivers, but you can try the XP models for the other computer models. I have checked and found that all the drivers of the below mentioned VAIO matches with your model except Blue tooth. So do not install the Bluetooth driver in the below link.
if these devices are not detected, either there is a hardware failure, or you just need the drivers installed, go to sony's website and look for the drivers for your bluetooth, and touchpad. hope this helps
uninstall driver then turn off the PC then unplug the power cord from power socket, short its legs then leave it unconnected for 5min, then reconnect it to power socket and turn on PC and install driver it should work :)
