  • gjones001 Jan 02, 2009

Great, that seems to have worked. Can i ask another question you have been so helpful?

Is it possible to have a "to-go" button that will subtract the tax charged on food?

    Thanks

  • gjones001 Jan 02, 2009

  • gjones001 Jan 02, 2009

Sorry i have another problem related to the first issue you answered for me!!

When i go to ring n the plu it rings in ok but know has a line underneath it "T1F" then the price, then if i ring in another item it comes up with "Eo26" Enter condiment/preperation"

  • gjones001 Jan 03, 2009

I programmed it as you had suggested on dec 28th which was in prog 3 mode. How can i get this back to normal and then link to a department?

  • gjones001 Jan 08, 2009

That worked gret thanks. Not sure what i was doing but i reset everything and then was able to link the departments and then rename them. The only other issue i have is to be able to have a button that subtracts sales tax if the oerder is take out?

  • gjones001 Jan 08, 2009

    i do

  • gjones001 Jan 08, 2009

that does work. However what normally happens is that you ring in everything and then hit a button that would subtract the sales tax. I have set up a "%-" button that will subtract the 6.5% I think that will work

    thanks

  • gjones001 Jan 08, 2009

Sorry, do you know how to export reports to a cf card?

  • gjones001 Jan 08, 2009

  • gjones001 Jan 18, 2009

not sure how i did this......It seems that i have made two buttons the same number!!!!!! The CA/Amt Tend and the - button are under the same plu number "0006-02"
Do you know how i can change it back?
    Thanks

Hi. It's best to link to departments, as they will normally show up on the standard report at the end of the day.

Turn key to Program mode.

3 SUBTOTAL

1166 SUBTOTAL

Now type the PLU number you want to link. E.g if you want to link PLU 6, then press 6 on the number pad (don't press the actual PLU, just type its number on the number pad)

Now press the button marked PLU. It should be near the other function buttons.

Now type the department number to link to. Use two digits. E.g to link to dept 5, type 05 on the number pad.

Press CASH

Press SUBTOTAL

Once you have linked your PLUs to various departments, just name the departments to suit. If you are not sure how to change dept text, just let me know.

As long as someone hasn't changed the memory allocation, you should have 30 depts available.

    Turn key to Program mode.
    2 SUBTOTAL
Type the dept number to be changed using the number pad.
    Type 05
    SUBTOTAL
Enter the new name using the character sheet
    CASH
    SUBTOTAL

Hmm, ok try pressing the 00 (double zero button) just before the CASH button in the sequence I gave you. Some models require this.

    flexion1 Jan 03, 2009

I would imagine you'd have a tax shift button if your area has PLUs that need switching. The tax shift button should reverse the tax status of the PLU making it untaxed. I have never used it or programmed it, as NZ sells everything taxed at a single rate so I can't help much there.

As for the departments, it sounds a bit strange. If they are allowing a name change then they should be changing on the report. You can read the programming of the depts like this:

    Key to Program mode.
    6 SUBTOTAL
    205 SUBTOTAL
    1 CASH
    10 CASH

This will print the first 10 departments. If you see the name that you programmed here, then it has worked. If not, then we need to find out why it is not saving the name. Let me know how you get on.

The reason for the error in REG mode "Eo26" Enter condiment/preperation" is that you have programmed the PLU as a condiment type. you need to go back and remove that status from it. You must have been changing it in prog 3 mode. What did you do before it happened? If it only happens with that PLU then you have just accidentally set the condiment data to 1 or 2 for that PLU. You might have to flag clear if it won't let you out of that sale. Just let me know if you have trouble.

  • flexion1
    flexion1 Jan 03, 2009

You must have made a mistake with that PLU because the code1166 cannot change the condiment status. try this:

    Turn key to program.
    3 SUBTOTAL
Now press 0 then press the item button (PLU) that has the problem.
    SUBTOTAL

That should turn everything off for that PLU, so try it again in REG mode to see if it works.
You will need to link it to a department again once it is working.

  • flexion1
    flexion1 Jan 08, 2009

To do that, you need to use the tax shift button (T/S1). It should reverse the tax status of the PLU.
See if you have a tax shift button on your keyboard.

  • flexion1
    flexion1 Jan 08, 2009

Ok. I think you press it before the PLU and then the PLU tax should be removed. If not, then we probably have to prog the tax shift button. I've never used it as we sell all goods inclusive here in NZ.

  • flexion1
    flexion1 Jan 08, 2009

I will need to know which reports you are taking, as there are codes for each. Look down the report, and tell me the headings eg fixed, trans, PLU, Group etc.

  • flexion1
    flexion1 Jan 08, 2009

    Key to program mode.
Make sure a formatted CF card is in the slot.
    7 SUBTOTAL
    70 SUBTOTAL
    904
    CASH
Now type a file name for this report. You can't use the same name twice, so you could use the date. Only numbers, letters and dashes allowed in file name.
    00 (double zero)
    CASH

That should give you all of the PLU detail including any periodic totals.

  • flexion1
    flexion1 Jan 19, 2009

    Key to Program,
    4 SUBTOTAL
    1 CASH
    27 - (minus button)
    SUBTOTAL

if it gives an error while setting these functions, you will have to do Z reports (Z1 and Z2) to clear any sales associated with these buttons, then program them again.

    flexion1 Jan 27, 2009

This is quite involved. It is not normally used so it is turned off by default.
You need to program the bottom message.
Use numbers 932 to 1232 in place of the logo numbers (132 to 432) and program the message as you would for the logo. E.g 2 SUBTOTAL 932 SUBTOTAL characters 00 CASH SUBTOTAL. If it doesn't print, then you will need to turn it on in the machine features area. Address code 21-22 has settings for it. If you need help with machine features settings, let me know.

  • flexion1
    flexion1 Jan 27, 2009

    Ok.

    Turn to program mode.
    6 SUBTOTAL
    322 SUBTOTAL
Tell me what is printed next to 0021-22

  • flexion1
    flexion1 Jan 28, 2009

    Ok.
    Try this:

    Key to Program mode.
    3 SUBTOTAL
    2122 SUBTOTAL
    200000
    CASH
    SUBTOTAL

  • flexion1
    flexion1 Jan 28, 2009

Ah. If it beeps, then that usually means it has no memory allocated either. I can't find allocation for bottom message, but there is a misc message file so we can try to allocate it and seeif that sorts it out.

    Key to program mode.
    5 SUBTOTAL
    78 SUBTOTAL
    10 CASH
    SUBTOTAL

If it gives an error, try 4 CASH instead of 10 CASH

  • flexion1
    flexion1 Jan 28, 2009

Ok. To quit from no of records step, just press SUBTOTAL.
Try extending the receipt message file

    Turn to program mode.
    5 SUBTOTAL
    32 SUBTOTAL
    10 CASH
    SUBTOTAL

If that gives an error, then it is probably requiring the whole data to be cleared from totalisers before allowing programming. This function is specialised, and message areas are usually allocated before any user programming is performed. we may have to do a whole data clear and start again if the message is important to you.

  • flexion1
    flexion1 Jan 28, 2009

Do you have a bottom message now?

  • flexion1
    flexion1 Jan 28, 2009

Excellent. We are on the right track.
Do the programming for file 32 again, but this time use 15 CASH.
then try programming the rest of the bottom message.

How do I program a MISC key on a Casio TE-2400 cash register?

You just use one of the item buttons. Re-name it to MISC then when you use it in REG mode, type a price each time and press MISC. This is the standard way to make a MISC button Make sure you don't use a decimal point when entering prices. Hope that makes sense

Casio TE-2400 Cash Register- Keyboard Orientation

Hi. The previous owner just had PLUs linked to the depts that suited them. to link PLUs to depts,
Turn key to Program mode.
As for NO SALE button, does it actually show the command NO SALE, or NS on the display when you press it? It may have been removed from the keyboard. Does the drawer open when you finish a sale normally?
There is normally a setting in key features for VAT breakdown on the CASH button. Make sure this is set so that it prints the breakdown. Add on means you sell at a tax exclusive price and the tax is added on to that by the register. Add in means you sell at a tax inclusive price and want the register to show how much of it was tax.
Hope this helps. See how you get on.

Hi.
It sounds like this machine has not had it's system options set fully by your dealer.
When you mention categories, are you talking about the label associated with each item button on the keyboard or internal groups. It will depend upon the way your dealer set it up for you.

I cannot change the price for an item on CASIO TE-2400 register

Hi. I'm afraid this is not a 'basic requirement' of a cash register. You are working with a very complicated area of cash registers that only the medium to high end machines can even do. If you are getting stuck already, then you will not be able to work out the more complex batch processing areas of scanning either.
Your dealer should have setup the majority of this for you before you left their store (especially the keyboard layout issue and keysheet for the keyboard), then you would normally receive extensive training if you are going to be making program changes yourself in future.
You will need to learn about the difference between flat PLUs and scanning PLUs, 'Not found PLUs' like you have run into so far, then deletion techniques, PLU status programming, manual entry using OBR method etc. The book is only a guide to what you should have learnt during training. You really need to go back to the dealer and get a training session. They should be able to sort out all of these problems for you. It will take a one on one demo to fully train the ins and outs of full scanning systems.
