Question about ViewSonic VX922 19" Monitor Flat Panel
I purchased my VX922 19" Monitor in 6/06 and from the start we had problems with "NO SIGNAL" and blinking green light as previously posted. It would work intermittedly until 10/08 and then it was completely broken. I've tried it on two different computers with two different video cards. Same result. I called Viewsonic because it was under warranty. I had to pay for shipping back to Viewsonic ($50.00) and they 'misplaced' the monitor for 12 days before they even started to look at it. They kept telling me they have a 10-14 day turn around time once they start workining on it (+7 days shipping =21 days total). They kept giving me the run around until they decided to send me a 'replacement' monitor that took 7 days to receive (you think they would want to please their customers and send it express) and of course it was just a refurbished VX922 that wobbled and had a stand problem and also DID NOT WORK! It was a total of a month before I received the other broken monitor. So now I am stuck with a refurbished VX922 that doesn't even stand correctly and Viewsonic has not returned my e-mails since 12/22. I wrote The Chicago Sun-times (my home town paper) and plan on reporting them to the Better Business Bureau for faulty product and terrible customer service. I suggest you do the same as you will get nowhere with this company! This monitor is not cheap, I refuse to spend another $50.00 to ship a broken monitor back and I am sure they are just waiting for the warranty to expire. My son had no monitor for college finals. I could not do my Christmas shopping and I run a small mailorder business which all have suffered due to this company's incompetancy...tell everyone you know NOT TO BUY VIEWSONIC product...they will only end up unhappy, without a monitor and broke!
The only advice that I have on this issue would be to call ViewSonic again and as soon as you get a Rep on the phone you need to ask for a supervisor. In the event that the supervisor is not helping you ask to speak to his supervisor. Make a point to mention the issues that you had in the past and then make them aware that you are upset while maintaining your cool because they will be more apt to work with you if you remain calm.
If all else fails you might mention that there is a burning or smoke smell coming from the monitor :-)
