Question about Acer Aspire 3613WLMi Notebook

1 Answer

Trying to connect Acer X213W monitor to Acer 3613 laptop. First Q-My laptop does not support 1680 x 1050 resolution, can I still use the monitor?Second Q- I can't seem to locate where to connect (hardwire) the DVI Cable (Only Dual-Input Model)(this is the only typel included with monitor) on to the laptop. Are there other connectors that I should purchase? Would it connect thru USB? And if so, what type of adaptor would I need.Whew!!, This should do it for now, sorry for all the questions in the same thread. Thanks and everyone have a great day!

1. Yes, the monitor will just display the resolution set by your laptop.
2. There should be a VGA port on your laptop, it's a trapezoid shape with 3 rows of 5 holes and usually blue. Since your monitor only has a DVI cable, you need to get a DVI to VGA adapter to be able to plug your monitor into this spot.

Can someone help me connect my Acer Aspire 3680?

Your graphics card on that should push that resolution so I would probably lean toward the tv. Try changing the aspect resolution or (zoom button) on the remote to change the way the screen is delivered. As long as the resolution on the laptop is a widescreen resolution and the same for the television. Make sure in your tv settings, that the aspect is set at 16:9.

Dell monitor and acer one laptop

Yes, you can connect. BUT, after that right click on the desktop and select Properties->Settings. There you will find two monitor icons. The left one is your Acer display while the right one is your new Dell Display. Select the right one and configure it. You should have the same resolution and color as the main Acer display to use it optimally.

External widescreen monitor for laptop

You have to make sure that the laptop could provide the required resolution of the monitor, because of the laptop could only give1280 x 1024 and the monitor is requiring 1600 x 1024, then expect that you will get that result.

Try changing the resolution of the laptop. Set it to 1024 x 768.

Have a good day!

Acer Aspire 3613 cracks near hinges.

you can lift up the little round circles take out all screws, take top off, to lcd find the little gold nuts that the screws go into, try to put them back in plastic holes with super or gorilla glue,
or order screen parts on ebay, hinges usually get worse unless you find a way to secure those brackets attached to hinges

Cracks near hinge Acer 3613 laptop

Apply a lubricant to the hinges themselves - not a ton of lubricant, as you don't want anything running down into the laptop proper.

What sound like has happened is that the display has somehow been in a bind, and therefore the hinges are in a bind. This makes it harder to moved the hinges, and thus when you open the lid it is making the cracks.

You may also want to unseat / unscrew the hinges and re-tighen the little screws that hold them in place.

Can't drive monitor

Try moving the monitor down to a lower res. I would try 640 x 480 first and then go up from there. Also, some adustments may be required in displays for the second monitor....

Limited monitor resolutions

By plugging into the tv you created an additional monitor profile. You will need to go to the resolution page and open the advanced button, from here set the monitor to the laptop screen versus the vga tv. There is also a troubleshoot button that can be useful.
