The washer pluged into the same circuit and receptacle has no PF problems.

Then why does it work fine with a 25' extension cord pluged into it? But when remove the cord it showes a PF power failure.
Must be the receptacle near the appliance?
It was pluged into the same receptacle.

SOURCE: how to hook up a cord to the maytag neptune dryer with no color c
The 2 larger outside wires are the Hot wires (Red and Black). Connect them to the Red and Black terminals on the dryer (They can be reversed, it does not matter as long as one is on the Black and the other is on the Red terminal) . The smaller middle wire is the Neutral wire (white) and will connect to the white terminal on the dryer.
SOURCE: PF error
This error code indicates "power failure" was detected. This could be caused by a bad/loose connection at either the logic board, the relay board, or at one of the three main power connection terminals on the back of the dryer. The logic board is located inside the control panel. The relay board is located in the base of the dryer. You can unplug and reseat electrical connections at these locations and check the main power cord hook-up at the terminal block. Hope this helped and best wishes.
