Sounds like the the Bendix is bad in the starter, which pushes out the drive gear to engage the flywheel. You'll need to replace the Bendix or the starter. It's a bit tough to get to the starter, it is underneath the intake manifold.

try installing a new crankshaft positioning sensor, ive had 3 saturn sc2 cars and its done exactly what your stating every time. hope this helps ya

Saturn SC1 compression ratio= 9.3:1
Saturn SC2 compression ratio= 9.5:1

p303 is a cylinder 3 missfire I woul first check the coil and then the ingnition module, Then if this dont work you could have a bad injector. If after testing and still no fix you should check the compression in that cyl.
