SOURCE: dryer screen

No. The accumulation of lint in the dryer screen generally doesn't have anything to do the amount that ends up INSIDE your dryer. Too little lint is not a bad sign. It's dependent upon the type of clothing you are drying as well. If the clothes are not "lint givers" (like cottons and wools), you generally won't see a lot of lint in the dryer screen. Dryer screens are not perfect, either and some lint always gets through. As long as there are no holes in the screen and you have it seated correctly, and you clean it after each use, you shouldn't have any problems.

What affects dryer performance the most, is your vent hose and routine cleaning. The simple rule of thumb is: The SHORTER and STRAIGHTER the vent hose the BETTER. The vent hose should also be cleaned thoroughly periodically. I recommend once per season. That's about 4 times per year. What causes the lint to back up into a dryer is when the vent hose becomes kinked or clogged. The lint is mixed with moist air when it leaves the dryer. If it has no where to go, it starts to accumulate and stick in areas of the vent hose that are sagging, or at tight bends. Eventually, the vent becomes so restricted that the lint ends up inside your dryer. This causes the heating circuits to overheat to eventual failure. Not to mention, accumulations of lint inside a dryer can cause a fire. I have personally inspected dryers that were so full of lint that the dryer hose contained about a gallon of water from condensation and the inside showed evidence of multiple fires. If you need further info, I have an article I wrote up explaining all of this under "Tips and Tricks" under my profile. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: front loading dryer

The check filter light is just a reminder light and cannot be reset.  Nothing to worry about.  Just keep the filter clean before each use.

SOURCE: maytag atlantis dryer exsess builup lint

What product have you purchased from this site? We are a collection of knowledgeable people who are not afilliated with any manufacture. While you have the OPTION of paying to work with someone live, if you leave your information posted for a day or two, one of us will generally get back to you with some FREE help.

Now on to your problem. While I don't know what model of maytag atlantis you have, these are the general guidelines for cleaning out under the lint screen area. The easiest approach is to buy a vaccume extension availible from appliance parts stores and some hardware stores. I have even seen a clean out kit for sale at bed, bath and beyond. Basically you fit the vaccume extension on to the end of you vaccume and feed it down to the area under the lint screen. To do a more efficent cleaning you would need to dis-assmble your dryer. If you can supply the model number located just inside the door, I could get you a step by step tear down to get to it from the inside.

SOURCE: Amana electric dryer will not heat/ LEA60AW

Check for 220 Volt at the heater entrance to the heater box (accessible from picking up the top on most models). If you have 220v there the heater element is out. If you don't have 220v on the terminals of the heater the problem is in the controls. The fuse link, the timer contacts, the centrifugal switch on the motor, and the heater safety thermostat and operating (s), are all suspect and have to be eliminated 1 by 1. Hope this helps. With any luck all you need is a new element. Clean the duct out while replacing the heater if so because the main thing that causes heater element burn out is low air flow a kinked Dryer vent hose, lint, and plugged up fan on the motor are the 3 main causes of low air flow. If yours has little holes in the inside cabinet these can get clogged with lint also and cause a problem. Hope this helps and please rate me accordingly Thank you and good luck.

there are drum rollers that support the drum and turn during rotation,FIRST UNPLUG the unit from POWER,then, remove the 2 bottom screws at the front cover and remove lower cover below the door, then remove 4 screws on front door cover 2 on each side and remove upper front and door, then remove 2 screws just under the top cover in front then release and remove drum belt from idler pulley by reaching under drum on right side by motor, then remove drum and 2 pulleys will be on rear of inside machine the other 2 will be on door panel, sometimes you can remove "c" CLIPS AND CLEAN HAIR AND LINT OUT AND lube with dry lubricant, but they are relatively inexpensive so replace all 4 rollers, check axles they turn on too and belt condition too amnd throughly clean out lint from innards too

Bought USED amana dryer dle330raw owner says works good but..... i ran it & it has to be set twice to dry anything! sandy

The problem could be in a few different places. Make sure that your dryer vent is not obstructed with lint or any other material. If it's clean then the problem is most likely in your air duct assembly. to clean this out do the following. Unplug the dryer. Pull the lower access panel off of the front of the dryer ( 2 screws ). Then remove the 2 bottom screws that are holding the front panel. Then remove the bulkhead ( 4 screws ). Be mindful that it supports the front part of the drum, and the drum might drop a little bit while you remove the bulkhead. Remove lint filter. Find a large compressor and blow out the air duct assembly. There will be lots of lint in there. Reassemble.

When you start to dry clothes the dryer takes from one hour to hour fourty five minutes to dry.sometimes it might dry them in fourtyfive minutes. ...

most likely you have to dlint your dryer which means you have to take the whole thing apart and use a vacum to **** up all the lint lint is the main problem of a dryer and causes them to break down rather quickly if the lint is not removed you will have to take off the back panel and remove the lint filter tube off the unit here you should find alot this is were it usually gets trapped also go to the front of the machine and remove the front panel and use the vacum on the bottom of the unit throughtout the hole thing you can also remove the drum if you choose so that you can dlint it more thoroughly please remember to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation and if i can answer any further questions message me back thanks again

My dryer heats up but want dry the clothes...Amana Heavy Duty Electric model number NED5100TQ1

You need to check the exhaust, from the back of the dryer to where it leaves the out side. They sell a brush you may use to clean the pipes, You may also use a vacume. Try it with the hose diconnected from the back for a load. If it does better then, get to cleaning. be sure you check the lint filter. Good luck, and please rate my answer that I can improve them.

How do I clean the lint out of the Kenmore Eite He3 past the lint screen?

Remove lint screen. Remove bottom front kick panel (usually three to four screws on very bottom front), There is a metal lint filter air duct assembly that has three to four screws holding it on. Usually one on each upper side of the duct, and one that has a bent metal bracket holding the bottom to the blower housing. This metal duct is dead center in the dryer under the door and ducts over to the bottom left. Remove the screws and pull the duct down and out. You can now clean this assembly. Needless to say, always unglug the dryer or turn it off at the circuit breaker before doing this job. I recommend that you do this at least once a year on the dryer, and clean out the washer lint and coin catcher at least once a year. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists.

Check local HD, Lowe's, Wal-Mart, etc. for a Dryer vent cleaning kit. Among other items, there is a flat tube attachment which connects to your vacum hose allowing you to get into the lint filter area.

Dryer Problem Lint light keeps coming on and dryer will not work

When you say you vacumed the lint area, did you mean the lint catcher underneath where the lint screen sits? The most effective way is to remove the 2 1/4" screws on the bottom of the lower front panel. Once you have the panel down and off, you will see a lint chute (the part under the lint screen). Remove the lint screen, 2 more 1/4" screws towards the top of the lint chute on either side and a 1/4 screw on the bottom by the black clip and youcan remove it for best cleaning and also any possible build up around your blower wheel (the white looking fan underneath the lint chute) Can you run it sucessfully without the hose attached? It could indicate a problem between where the hose enters the wall and exits to the outside of the building. (it will get very hot, humid and a little linty doing this test, but it would eliminate any kind of blockage with the venting). When you washed you lint screen did you scrub it? I usually use soap water and an old tooth brush as you can actually get a clear coating on the screen without even being able to see it. How do your seals look? (put your head in the dryer drum and you will see a grey ring both in the rear and as you look back towards yourself) Are they dammaged? Have you cleaned your moisture sensors? This can cause a false error. While you have your head in the drum and are looking back towards the front, you should see 2 silver bars. Clean them off with the abrasive side of a sponge or a fine grit sand paper. If it is still malfuntioning, drop me a note back with your model and serial numbers (loacted just inside as you open the door) and I will see what else I can come up with.
