Question about Denpa USB-24 Digital Voice Recorder

2 Answers

USB CONNECTOR Does anyone know how to get a USB connector for this model? It's been replaced by the MP-38 and I was told the USB connectors are not interchangable. Does anyone have one available for purchase or to borrow? I tried to record to my PC with a microphone, but the quality was unacceptably poor.

It's not a standard USB 1.1 cable. That would make life too easy. It's a proprietary USB cord.

Contacted directusbstore but they regretably informed me they did not have one.

Still no solution. Standard USB cables don't fit; it uses a proprietary USB cable. I can't find one used.

Here is the link for the info on your recorder; http://211.21.133.121/vprod.php?vds=17 and this is the conatct link for Denpa; http://211.21.133.121/contact.php From the info I could find it appears to be a standard USB 1.1 cable - so long as you can fit one end into your recorder and the other into your pc then you should have no problem Hope this helps, please ask again if not :)

the "dimmer switch" is part of the combination switch. They wear down, internally - I've taken apart a used one, so I know. Also, the headlamp connectors like to corrode on that model year ( I also have 96 civic, and had to replace a headlamp connector). https://www.hondapartsnow.com/parts-list/1996-honda-civic-4dr_ex-ka-4at/combination-switch.html (parts 8 and 9)

USB connector broke off

Hello,
You can surely do that but since there will be no Operating System to boot from, you will need a bootable third party software that can give you an environment where you can view your hard disk and copy things from it. An example is Hiren Boot CD's mini XP and Winternal's ERD Commander. You then set your PC to boot from CD in the bios setup.

All the best.

Hi Does anyone have a part number (Digi-Key, TYCO, Molex, Hi-roes...etc...) for the surface mount USB connector on the Garmin Nuvi 200 series....

My research seems to show that this is a proprietary SMT straight (not 90 degree) Mini USB connector.....
Everything I have seen is a right angle connector.....

If anyone finds a part number for this, please post the answer....

  1. Connect diagnostic read-out tool to SMEC connector, then disconnect the speed sensor connector and ensure there are no pushed out or damaged terminals. Repair damaged terminals, then proceed to Test 38.
  2. If there are no damaged terminals, set diagnostic read-out tool to ``Read Sensor Values,'' and select ``Vehicle Speed.'' Connect a jumper wire at between black/light blue and white/orange wires of speed sensor connector. While reading diagnostic read-out tool, make and break jumper wire. If display reads any speed above 0 mph, replace speed sensor, then proceed to Test 38.
  3. If display reads 0 mph, turn ignition switch Off and disconnect 60-way connector from SMEC. Ensure there are no pushed out or damaged terminals. Repair damaged terminals, then proceed to Test 38. If there are no damaged terminals, proceed to step 4.
  4. With sensor disconnected, connect ohmmeter between 60-way connector terminal No. 67 and ground. If ohmmeter shows continuity, proceed to step 6. If ohmmeter does not show continuity, move meter lead from ground to white/orange wire of speed sensor connector.
  5. If ohmmeter indicates continuity, proceed to step 7. If ohmmeter does not indicate continuity, repair white/orange wire of 60-way connector for open circuit, then proceed to Test 38.
  6. Disconnect bulk head connector to instrument panel. If ohmmeter still indicates continuity, repair white/orange wire for a short to ground in harness, then proceed to Test 38. If ohmmeter does not indicate continuity, repair white/orange wire for a short to ground in instrument cluster area.
  7. Disconnect ohmmeter leads and connect ohmmeter between 60-way connector terminal No. 4 and sensor connector black/light blue wire. If ohmmeter does not indicate continuity, proceed to step 8. If ohmmeter indicates continuity, replace SMEC, then proceed to Test 38.
  8. If ohmmeter did not indicate continuity, repair black/light blue wire of speed sensor harness for an open circuit, then proceed to Test 38.

Sony trv59e casssette camcorder, dont know how to transfer cassettes to discs on laptop.

Does your camcorder has USB connector? If it doesn't, you can't transfer files to PC because it is analog camcorder.
Digital camcorder has USB connector for PC and new models have DV connectors as well.

Lost my USB Connector cord

Every electronis store should have one such as 'The Source'
Or look through your "computer drawer", alot of other things like digital cameras have one.

If you have a specific USB cord you might have to contact American Anko by calling support.

Speedstream 5200 modem

Open the following link --

speedstream 5200

Download the manual from the link and review page 7 for ethernet connection.

Notice particularly the back of the device. There are four connection points to plug things in the one on the left with DSL is where cable with the phone connectors connects the phone jack to the speedstream 5200. On the right the round connector with the pin is where the power goes. Next to the power connector to the left is a USB connector. In between usb connector and the DSL port is an ethernet connector. One way to avoid the need for the USB software os to use the ethernet connector bu connecting an ethenet cable (wider connector that fits snugly in both ports one on the Speadstream 5200 and the other probably present on your computer.

USB driver including VISTA (if you prefer)
