Can't Open Links to Websites In e-mail

If I receive a link in an e-mail to another website, which I often do, and I am certain it is safe and I want to open it, I cannot. I must copy and paste it into the address bar in order for it to work.
I am sure I should be able to click on the link and open it from the website.
Can you help?
Thanks!

How do you fix a broken hyperlink?

Step 1:
A broken link on your website is like a broken promise to your visitor: You did not provide the content you said you would. Broken links might cause some visitors to question your professionalism, competence or intelligence. Don't disappoint your visitors. Make certain that all the links on your website actually work.

Use your Web browser to go to a free online link checker. Options include the W3C Link Checker, Iwebtools' Broken Link Checker or 1-Hit Broken Link Checker. http://validator.w3.org/checklink , http://www.iwebtool.com/broken_link_checker , Find and remove broken links in your website http://sixrevisions.com/website-management/find-remove-broken-links/ Broken Line checker http://www.1-hit.com/all-in-one/tool.broken-link-finder.htm Enter the URL of the Web page you wish to check. Click the "Check" or "Check Links" button to begin the validation process. Review the results once the link checker has finished its work. The report will list all the broken links the checker was able to find on that page. The W3C Link Checker report also gives you the line number where you might find the broken link in the original HTML code. Open your Web editor and load the page you just checked. Search for the broken link. If you have trouble finding the link, try copying the broken link from the report, then use your editor's "Find" function to quickly locate it. Find and correct every broken link listed in the report or remove the links if they no longer are needed. Save the edited page. Open up your FTP (file transfer protocol) application and connect to your Web server. Transfer the edited file from your computer to your Web server. Log out of the server. Recheck the the Web page you just uploaded. If this page passes with no problems, repeat the process for each page in your site that has links.

What is confirmation ID send my email

Hi there,

This is usually something that happens when you sign up to a website. Some websites will E-mail you a confirmation ID that signifies they want that ID to process your registration. Other websites will send you a confirmation ID in the event that you purchased something. If it's the type of ID that's needed to process your registration, open up your E-mail and look for an E-mail from the website you just registered to. In there you should see a code consisting of numbers and letters. (Certain E-mails will just provide you with a link that you click on.)

Note down the code and go back to the website that requested the confirmation ID. If it asks for the code when you sign in, type it in to proceed and that's it. :)

If this solution doesn't resolve your problem, please post a response on this page and I will be happy to assist you further.

Web addresses will not open in e-mail messages, why !

Sometimes it it s a "Protection" setting, it definitely is a "Setting" on the Email program and or browser, This is to stop automatic, activation of links, that say a virus, may be able to exploit, in this case, sometimes you have to press Highlight the address & hold down CTRL and then,"Click" the Link. Or select it and choose "Open In.. and choose.new tab, or Window... then there is Copy/Paste, I think there is an explorer setting "Set links to Active" when this is set, double clicking on the, blue "Active" link, will usually open that website in a new Window, or Tab, as may have been chosen. If you cannot double click, again, one can still, simply highlight the address and select copy, and paste into address bar and enter it in that way, it may even be as fast?

When I am clicking on links in internet explorer 7, it no longer makes the sound to indicate that the link (or email button, etc) has been clicked. How do I get that back? I still receive sound when I...

Hello, April.

I'm figuring that sound is not enabled in the Internet Explorer browser.

Check by selecting: Tools - Internet Options - Advanced tab - (Scroll down) - Multimedia - to see if "Play Sounds in Webpages" has a check mark. If not, add a check mark, select "OK", close Internet Explorer and try again.

Hope this helps.

When recieveing e-mail with web links in the e-mail they will not open when click on

Some E-mail clients do not support clickable links. You can find an e-mail client that does or you can copy and paste the URL into your browsers address bar and get it that way.

Clicking on links in email don't work

Links in an email in the Junk folder will never work. It is set this way to protect you. However if you are clicking a link in an email in the Inbox, right click the link and then click "Open Hyperlink". Once you do that the links on emails in your Inbox should work from now on. If not, is IE your default browser? If not make it so. If that does not work open Internet Options >> Control Panel >> Programs Tab >> Reset Web Settings.
