Can't Open Links to Websites In e-mail

If I receive a link in an e-mail to another website, which I often do, and I am certain it is safe and I want to open it, I cannot. I must copy and paste it into the address bar in order for it to work.
I am sure I should be able to click on the link and open it from the website.
Can you help?
Thanks!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hello, I have received an E-mail today for an order I did not place

99.99% chance it is a spam / phishing email.

Don't click on any links within the email!!!

This is a standard technique of online fraudsters:

They frighten you into thinking you have committed to spend some money, or have already paid

You then click a link in the email - WHICH LOOKS LIKE THE WEBSITE IT CLAIMS YOU HAVE ORDERED FROM!

This is actually a fake link and you then type in your login details, effectively giving them directly to the fraudsters

You then find that the actual ***** will follow very soon afterwards...

If the suspect email gives details of how you are supposed to have placed the order, then go direct to that online site and check from there (iTunes, eBay, Amazon, etc.)

How To Check Website Links or Links in Emails To See If They Are Safe To Click...

How to identify if links are safe to click on,

In order for you to check the status of links in Emails, or on Websites, you will need to be using Firefox web browser and install an add-on called Dr. Web Anti-Virus Link Checker

Once you have downloaded and installed the above files, when you come across a website or email that includes web links that you look suspicious in anyway, then all you need to do, is right-click on the link within the E-mail or Web Page & then select the "Scan with Dr. Web" option that appears in the menu list as shown below:

e2c672d.png

When you click on the "Scan with Dr.Web" link, you will be presented with the following screen:

9745ef0.png

Once the link scanning is complete you will get the following displayed if the link is genuine & safe to click on:

55cfb3f.png

In the event that the link is unsafe, then you will receive the above notification box, but will be Red in colour to indicate that the link is considered to be potentially dangerous.

In the even that "Dr.Web" returns a "Unable to Identify Link" message, then it either means that the link has been either removed or has broken. However, if you read the information of the result, it usually indicates the reasons as to whether or not the link could be dangerous or not, and in such scenarios you should use caution before clicking on any such links that return such results.

In my aol, when I try to open emails, a message says to go above the list and click on " your links are disabled for your safty. To activate click on "show images and enable links"help

This feature protects you from unwanted links to your mail. E-mail from strangers can contain unwanted connections to other web sites.

I usually keep this save guard where the links are disabled and enable for friends and official known to be save websites. You can enable for each specific e-mail as it is requested. The email will still open with links disabled and the link will be visible.

The following is from the AOL home page "options" that allows you to set the reading features. Reading

Browser only opening on SOME OUTLOOK links

The problem is not with your computer or your browser. You are saying 2 links opened. The other 2 did not open. It is quite common different links point to the same URL. The reason it did not open was because there is some mistake in the URl. Another reason could be that your browser is setup to block certain type of websites.
Hope this will help you.

If you're behind a firewall, your network administrator might have block access to the youtube site. Some organizationsor firms do that just to lower the amount of daily badnwidth usage

I can open yahoo home page but further cannot open any links

Make sure that you have Internet connection by going to other websites which you don't normally visit.
If you have security software, try disabling it temporarily then try to click on the links again.

If you're using Internet Explorer browser, clear temporary internet files which are unnecessary. To do that, open Internet Explorer, at the top of the bar, click on Tools>Internet Options> then click on Delete Cookies, Delete Files and Clear History.

If you have Mozilla Firefox browser, go to Tools and click on Clear Private Data.

If you still can't access the links on your yahoo homepage, check if you can access links from other websites. If you're also having problems with other websites, it's a browser issue.

In cases like this, if you have Internet Explorer and you have this problem, I would suggest downloading Mozilla Firefox from www.mozilla.com

Also try to reboot your computer and modem..

And scan the computer for possible virus infection using a security software..

You may also contact your ISP so they can check if there's any latency or fluctuations on their end.
