Question about Samsung DVD-V5650
I've got an old 5650 hooked up to an Emmerson LCD television for my kids. When I try to run a DVD in it through the HDMI, all I get is a black screen that sometimes flashes blue with no sound. The Samsung title screen shows up fine with the HDMI connection. The screen only goes black when I actually hit play on the DVD player. I've called Emmerson and they believe it to be a Samsung issue, and I've called Samsung and they seem to have no idea what the problem is.
It's a problem with the Samsung. If you get a Samsung title screen, the HDMI is OK and the TV is OK.

Hi.. it looks as if that particular dvd/vcr is not compatible with the coding digital signals that the hdmi is putting out so it's not converting the signal over correctly.. if you try just using the regular analog cable instead of the hdmi, that might solve your problem.. i hope this helps..d
