the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

I have office small business 2007 on my old Toshiba laptop. just purchased a new Dell N5050 and want to install the office program on it . Microsoft will not accept my 25 digit key number .what do I do?

You will have to uninstall it from your laptop first because the license key is still in use.
So it depends on how you bought the software for the old computer.
Only one one type of MS license is transferable to a new computer. It is known as a FPP license. Typically you get a FPP license by buying the Retail (big ugly ecologically insensitive, mind bending) Yellow Plastic box With the CD in it. You can also get FPP licenses electronically, but you have to ask for them specifically and pay a little more.
Other MS licenses include:
*MLK (Medialess Key) ie electronic download,
*OEM, preinstalled by manufacturer.
*PKC, Product Key Card
These licenses are typically sold at at discount from the retail price.
You have to figure out what type of license you have.
If you have a FPP license, to transfer it, you simply uninstall it from the old machine and install it on the new machine. In theory, internet activation should be automatic, but you may have to phone activation and explain to the service rep. During install and activation you are given option of doing internet or phone activation.
So without further investigation you could simply do the uninstall, install and see what happens. If you have to do the phone activation the SR will explain to you that the product key does not quality for transfer.

I have a new laptop and i amm being asked for the product key in order to use office and i do not have it, because the laptop already had office in it. there was no CD

you have to buy the product key from microsoft. but you could use open office which is totally free and handles all microsoft documents (be sure to go into the options menu and change the save settings to microsoft types) www.openoffice.org

My laptop has microsoft office home and student 2007 version,,it keeps on asking the product key,,,,it has a window 7 operating system,,need help

Hi. I think sir the version of MS Office that you have there is only a trial version, because most of the laptops or notebook machines come only with a trial version of MS Office and I think its good only for 3 months or after 20 times of use, then it will ask for a new product. If you havent use it for 3 months or 20 times then you can just close the message box that its ask you for a product key, if not then you should purchase the license activation key from microsoft directly or you could purchase a full version of MS Office 2007 from a retailer or again from Microsoft directly. Hope This Helps

Need a prod key for home and student 2007

Every new laptop comes with MS office 2007(pre installed) and valid only for 1 month. If you still need the MS office, then you have to buy a license from Microsoft. Otherwise uninstall the MSoffice in Add or Remove programs.

When you bought the office you might have also gotten the key on the cd box. use that key . The key ont he computer is the key of the vista and not the microsoft office.

Product key

Did you purchase Microsoft Office Professional separately? If you did purchase it separately, the license key will be on the box or the CD. If it came with the computer and you purchased the license, contact the computer manufacturer or where you bought it so they can give you the license key. Some computers come with a free trial of MS Office and will eventually expire and ask for a license or activation key.

Change Computer and want to move Microsoft Office License

If this is an OEM copy of office, it is non-transferable, and has to stay with that particular hardware. If it's not OEM, then you should be able to just install on the new PC, and if the software will not let you activate online, you'll have to call the Microsoft number given during activation to have it activated.
