Open Question

Hi we have a hotpoint gw74 slot in cooker, so how the timer was set and for over two weeks now we can not get the oven to on, we have followed the instructions in the manual, but it does not seem to cancel the timer programme, the only way we can get the oven to light is to hit all the clock buttons until it lights which normaly take between 15 - 30 mins

Hotpoint ew81n cooker. Non working oven thermostat has been replaced. The cooker temperature is hotter than the dial reading. What can I adjust to make them the same?

Hi.
Unfortunately, the oven thermostat is non adjustable.
However, it is normal for oven temperatures to vary by + or - 10% of the setting.
This is acceptable, so to compensate, set the temp 10% less of the required temp setting.
Make sure you have the sensor fitted correctly inside the oven compartment
Make sure that the thermometer is accurate if you are checking the temperature with one.

278.4088891 Kenmore wall oven. The display goes black

Hi

Sounds like the "display" part of the timer is faulty or has a bad connection. As the cooker still heats up then the "relay" is working ok.

A replacement timer will be roughly £70 - £80

Hope this helps

Unable to get cooker out of automatic mode

If your oven has timer and it is flashing AUTO then you need to reset it to manual for it to work.
If no timer then it could be a faulty door micro switch, located at the front left side..\Hope this helps, please leave feed back.
Thanks

My oven has completely stopped working

hi there as long as your supply to the cooker is ok the problem can only be one of two things the mains terminal block burnt out or the overheat cutout has blown at the back of the cooker
