No problem, just ?

It say's to charge battery for 5 hours. The light will go out when charge is complete. Can I leave it charge over night? Will it keep charging or does it stop charging when the light goes out? Or do you have to take it off the charger right after the light go out?

thank you, Charlie

No issue. The charger is adapted to the battery. You can leave the battery over night in the charger without problem. The fact that the light goes off means that the charger surveys the voltage and switches off when the battery is charged.

If you leave it longer and the battery looses charge, it will be recharged automatically.

Welcome to FixYa.

Red light indicates that the battery is charging. The light will goes off to inform you the charging is complete. Possible that the battery was alreay damaged since you left it charging overnight. Charging time is approximately 5 hours only.

I suggest that you have to replace your battery with a new one.

Just got a new battery off Ebay..Installed in the camera and a red light came on..Does that mean that its charging or does a green light means that its charging?..Does the red light suppose to go off and...

Answered this one earlier-

The manual says that a red light is a charging error. Green means it is charging and the light goes out when charging is complete.

The camera must be turned off when charging the battery. They recommend a full 8 hour charge for a new battery, then allow it to discharge completely (leave the camera on I guess) and charge it again "before use".

You can download the manual from this page. Select the "Resources" tab.

Casio Exelim EX-Z77 battery will not charge, charger light flashes on and off.

Your battery maybe drained, you can try to leave it in charger for hours( it will take long for a drained batt to start charging) blinking led may indicate that charger is trying to supply current to batt, anyways I strongly suggest you to buy a new one

The battery dose not get the full charge

how old is this battery? if its a ni-cad then you can try to recycle it by running it till its nearly flat (by using a small light bulb) run it down till the lamp is just glowing use a 5 watt bulb for this just dont go trying to SHORT IT OUT!!! with a bit of wire or that will be the end of that battery,,after recycling it a fuw times run down recharging it it may start taking a full charge,, if its a nickel/hidrate its past its sell by bate and nothing can be done with it, also check the charger it may not be putting out the curent to fully charge this battery,, and how long do you leave it on charge??? it needs 16 hours at least, if its flat to fully recharge it,, this 1 hour charge lark is a load of clap trap,,all you get in the battery is 75% charge and a very short lived battery with it,,
so its slow and slower for a full charge,,

When I plug my camera in to charge, I leave it charge all night, but it never completely charges.

many users face this problem. there are two possibilities for this problem 1) either the battery is got weak/drained so its not holding the charge still you charge it whole night. 2) the other possibility is that the charger wire is got faulty.many a times the wire gets cut in between so it does not charge the battery. check out both the options one by one. a local camera repair shop will be more helpful in this case, because he will have both the things.replace which ever is faulty.
This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

Kodak C340 I installed new batteries and docked it over night and the camera still dose not turn on

with new batterys you may find if quicker to charge them in a battery charger and not in the camera,,,the camera charger is for "topping up" the batterys realy not fully recharging them its so you can leave the camera on its docking port and it will have fully charged batterys in it when you wont to use it,, to fully charge a new set of batterys it could take days,,,,so overnight is to short a charge to recharge them,,,leave the camera on its docking station for a fuw days at least, or use a home charger for your type of battery ie:AAA or AA, both take 16 hours to recharg fully

I also have Casio Exilim EXZ75 I didn't charged it for almost 3 weeks and once I charged it, the red light flashes on and off... Then I inserted it in the camera... it still doesn't work... how can I solve...

kindly leave the battery for long duration in charging position let the red light blink and then see after like 16 hours or 24 hours if it works and charge otherwise change the battery with the same specs , and next time when u leave battery for long duration likea month or weeks charge it to full or half so it can hold some power to re charge again , ur battery is in Coma state nearly dead so it might come back or not

pls rate me well

Digital rebel battery drain with flash only

I would suspect the batteries

Ive got an eos Rebel think its just over 4 years old
for the last year its been used every weekend for several hours 300+ pics per weekend between 2 nights I found that recently where one battery would last a night the battery was running out midway through & also taking longer to charge afterwards

2 after market replacements cost me about £10 and things are back to normal

5 years is a pretty good lifespan for a battery so its probably just getting old

When I try to charge the battery the light just flashes and the charger does not work.

Hi, I had the same problem!

Had not used my camera for a while so I decided to but my battery on charge, once in the charger the orange light just kept flashing so I left this in "flashing" for a good hour or so.

I removed it and then replaced it, and it was still flashing so I decided to get a new battery (£40!).

I put the new battery on charge over night and it charged great, so I thought I would re-try charging my old one before I sent it away for recycle, and guess what the orange light stopped ON and it was charging!

Not sure what happened here, it was either charge the old for an hour with light flashing and then remove and leave over night and re-try OR insert a good battery to re-set the charger?

But I now have 2 good batteries.

Hope this helps :)
