Question about Dell Dimension 2400 PC Desktop

Text too wide for screen

Thank you, I think your answer solved my problem except for one final question: The pages now fit on the screen without being too wide. However, the type is quite small. I went back in and set it to "large". Is that the only solution for that? I see well so I don't think font size is a vision problem. Maybe that's an answer to that, also, that I don't know. Thanks so much for your help. I appreciate it very much. ~Chuck

Thank you, billspeer. I've since learned that I can use that wheel to change either text size or both graphics and text size at the same time by going to View>Zoom>Zoom Text Only and checking or unchecking that. I appreciate your help. ~ Chuck

If you want to increase the font size of the text on the page and you're using a scroll wheel mouse, here's a handy little trick- hold down the Control button while rolling the scroll wheel up or down. This will increase/decrease the size of the text on the screen but won't affect the graphics.

I wanna know what video cards will fit my DC7600 convertible minitower

Your PC has a PCI-e x16 slot available for upgrading graphics cacapabilities. Any PCI-e x16 that is not double-slot wide or that requires a pcie power plug should work. If you take a look at the images at NewEgg.com you can see which NVIDIA (Geforce) and Radeon based cards are double wide. Your PC just doesn't have the physical space for a fit. For Radeon cards 3000 series and below with the exception of not higher that an HD 3650 in the 3000 series. For NVIDIA based cards in the 7000 series and lower with a couple of exceptions. 8000 series: nothing higher than an 8600 model. 9000 series is a no go.
Your PSU is not capable of running the cards I mentioned as exceptions. Your PSU is less than 300W. Powerful video cards require more wattage and extra PCIe specific power connectors. Read the specs to ensure that the video card you are considering does not have any additional power requirements.
You can link to the cards you are considering and we will let you know if the will fit and work and why they will not if they are exceptions.

Had to restore computer and now the text doesn't fit screen, how do I change it or make it smaller

Hi Mary,
If you are running Windows 7, you will go to the Personalize by right clicking on the desktop, then you can change any aspect of the desktop, i.e. desktop image, text, etc
If you are on XP, you can go to the "Display" in the Control Panel, then you can change the aspect of the text, usually it is the first thing you see there, make it "Normal". Here you can also change the Screen resolution, by making it larger to accommodate the text, usually 1024 by 768 is a good size. This may solve the problem altogether without changing text size.
Let me know how you make out, please rate and comment.
Thank you Joe

I have a HP Pavilion Elite M9500y desktop PC. The problem I'm having is my web page text size are way too large. Can you help me get my pc back to the correct size? I appreciate any help. Thank you, Melani...

Hi,
Depending on the browser you are using you could get smaller text just pressing Ctrl and - If you press Ctrl and + you get bigger text.
If you let me know the browser you are using maybe I can help further if this does not solve it.

Re user manual for JVC GZ-MG57

Hi read my other post.

1) JCV locked file to prevent changes.

2) Download a demo copy of "snagit"

3) Screen capture manual on page at a time, save as JPG.

I have done this already if you send me your email.

4) Drag the 72 jpegs into ABBYY Soft OCR

5) Adjust borders of picture objects and text objects manually as needed.

6) To create a new object just drag a window over the graphic.

7) To edit an object or change its type: Text, Picture, Table, UNknown
just right click on it

8) One you like what you see, save it as a word document.

9) NO you can start translating the text as I told you before.

As I said I have the 72 JPEG files and a less then perfect DOC file,
which I can email to you, probiding the files will fit in your mailbox.

Right click on your desktop, select properties. Click on the Advanced tab. Change the screen resolution to 1024x768, that's usually a good one to use. If that doesn't look right, you can go to a hight resolution than that also.
