I have a samsung le46m51b with backlight sound but no picture

The screen is blue/black but lights up slightly cos the back lights are working as you change channels the screen slowly goes darker each second just like a pulse no pixel movement whatsoever, any ideas, many thanks if you have.

Hi thanks for your reply, I am not sure if the answer is for my set, only the email I received said it was for a LTC2715 27, and mine is a samsung 46m51b, I just wondered if the backlights are working ie. they are lit and you can see them lit from the back of the set, does this still mean that the inverters are faulty, or is it the screen control board at fault No.460wsc4lvo.1, many thanks Neil.

Many thanks once again, will this be the inverter on the left or the one on the right of the set looking from the back, I assume one is the master and the other a slave, many thanks once again Neil.

It's the back light inverter.
they are common to fail. you will have to change that board.

no, the back light inverter is the one that powers on your screen not the lights in the back.

it's going bad that's why it gets darker.

you will experience a black screen but you will have sound.

    that's when it died.

is just a card and can be replaced, you will have to take the other one out to match it up.

Hello
disconnect and reconnect all the plugs and see if there is a change
Check the capacitors, if they are swollen on the upside, replace them and it will be fixed.
Good luck

I have no video ihave audio, the screen stay black

Hi Doug,
Please try a flash light on the screen. If you can see a faint picture, the fault is with the backlights. In samsung LCD TVs it is the bad inverter board which is often found responsible for this fault.
Good Luck.

JVC LT-52P789 no picture just sound

If this is an LCD TV, show a flash light on the screen from a safe distance. If you can see picture, it means the backlights have gone off and the TV might need servicing.

Samsung HPS4253 Sound but no picture.

your backlight burnt out, this will be a maybe several hundred dollar repair. the screen is backilt by a very expensive flourescent light, without that light, the screen will be black.
