When you go into recovery mode, you need to disable the vsh menu...after you do that, there will be no more problems...

My psp still shows everything is getting power, but my screen wont come on

  1. Remove the battery from the left side of the PSP while it is still on. The unit will power down instantly. Wait 10 seconds and then replace the battery.
  2. Press both clear shoulder buttons at the top of the PSP and keep them held down while the PSP reboots. This initiates a "Recovery" mode.
  3. Press down on the control pad to locate a "recovery" folder. This will contain all of your PSP content, including games, music, videos and podcasts that are saved on the device. Highlight this folder and press the "X" button to begin reinstalling your content.
Hope this helps, give me a good thumbs up please!

Get the latest firmware from the sony site and a pandora battery to unbrick the psp.

Use the pandora battery to load the service mode, this is like a normal bettery **** enhanced, use it to load the new firmware.

If this doesn't work, get a new main board for your psp.

    Succes.

Down arrow key not working properply; cursor keeps moving up on its own: sometimes doesn't respond to down arrow key being pressed

u probably have sticky stuff and dirt in the directional pad, try this:

take the battery out, make sure the power is off, pour a little alcohol in the the crack of the directional pad, then press the directional pad in the different directions to loosen it up, finally let the psp sit for a few hours til the alcohol dries (or blow in it) that sould loosen everything up, if that does not work you will have to open the unit and clean the pad thorougly...

    PSP unresponsive

    Hi Flying back,

I think your PSP may have had a confrontation with moisture. It sounds like the D-pad has one of the circuit pads shorte together full time. If one of the direction pads is always on, it will ignore the rest or add to them for a diagonal move. You need to open up your PSP and Look closely at the circuit pads for a form of short circuit across from one side to the other. you can scratch the short away if you find one. This should help. Good luck.
