Try hitting (Vol up) and (Vol down) at the same time. This works on the older Magnavox sets. Stargazer

Sounds like TV is in "demo" mode. check owners manual or try checking mfg website. Usually requires hitting two or three buttons on remote to get it out of this mode.

TV seems to be in some kind of sales demo mode

To disable the Demo mode, perform the following:
  1. Turn GA_googleFillSlot("TL-IMU-Article"); on the TV.
  2. Simultaneously hold down the Vol+ and Vol- buttons on the front of the TV. Do not use the remote control.
  3. Hold for about 6 seconds
  4. Certain model TVs may turn off, others will not. But in either case, the Demo mode should be disabled.

LOL its in a demo mode man!! simply hit the menu button on the original remote and go to the special settings and turn them off. If it still does not work, then the painter or the Microprocessor Ic Needs to be replaced.
