the ignighter trysto start the propane but it is like there is none there to ignight.i had the heat pump on then switched it to furnace and it worked for two cycles then stoped ignighting again.

  • tlodolce Dec 27, 2008

the gas line looks ok. i put soapy water on every thing and there were no leaks.

  • tlodolce Dec 27, 2008

the control valve makes sence but the outside temp hsa risen and the furnace runs fine. at one point this morning i smelled propane and the ignighter was working and there was no ignition. the fan was running blowing cold air. now it seems fine. is it possible the control valve is getting too cold to work or could it be the thermistate not working properly?

  • tlodolce Dec 27, 2008

could the control get too cold too work at night or could the thermastate be operating incorrectly?

  • tlodolce Dec 27, 2008

What you need to do is make sure that you are delivering enough pressure to the gas

first thing to do is make sure that you tanks are full that the pressure regulator is operating properly. whenever the propane boils off it can cool the tank causing the pessure to drop inside of the tank then the furnace won't fire properly and lock out, sometimes the regulators stick but i don't think that is your case here. wrap the tank so that the ambient temperature does't effect the operation. Good Luck.

Hi
Try turning the breaker off for 5 minutes and see if this resets the system.
if not you may have a defective Control board and you will need to have a HANDS on tech to diagnose these parts to be sure! They will have the diagnose equipment !

You have one of 2 problems. either the ignitor is going bad to where it doesnt always get hot enought to lite the gas or the flame sensor is bad.. but since you said its not igniting then you are looking at 99.9 % chance of it being the itgnitor.

Hello tlodolce

Have you checked the gas line, perhaps it is freezing or is getting old and needs to be replaced. Let me know what you find when you look into this.

U will need to replace the control valve (or it's voltage supply transformer) for the gas to the burners, it is defective, u said the igniter comes on, this means the solenoid in the gas valve has been sent a signal to open but doesn't do so. Also check the transformer for the control valve voltage supply, if it is defective then the the solenoid has no power, but in most cases it is the valve and not the transformer.

The valve is sticking, this is still a valve issue, replace it and u will see the problem goes away.

1968 Camaro convertible fuel gage not indicating. Fuses are good. Cannot find the problem.

Pull the connector apart at the gas tank, and ground the fuel level sending wire (on the vehicle side of the connector). Turn key to on. If gauge now goes to full, the gauge is good. The sender unit in the gas tank is bad.

This is an RV frig correct? It SHOULD work either/or. AC or DC. If your plugged into AC then often the frig will work with that alone. DC is for when you have no AC so you can power your appliances of the battery. Maybe you have a converter (AC to DC which most RV's do) that somehow is not getting the DC to the frig.

I have not seen an home heating fuel oil tank buried before. Most such oil tanks were standing on legs and outside of the house. If the old oil furnace was where the new gas furnace is, look for the old fuel line hanging loose. It might tell you where the tank was or is.

Fuel guage & water guage are not working properly the fuel guage reads ful then will go to empty after you drive it for awile - the water guage only goes up to a quater

The gas tank sending unit has a float on it to register the amount of gas in the tank. The float is probably faulty which will cause erratic readings and is a fairly common issue with some GM units. Replacement of the sending unit should resolve that issue. As far as the coolant temperature gauge, it could be a faulty temperature sending unit or a thermostat that is stuck open or someone removed the thermostat. This will cause the engine to never reach operating temperature which in turn makes the engine run rich and can clog cat. converters and destroy some sensors.

Had to have my car jumped off when the battery when bad and the gas gauge stopped working. checked fuses and all are good.

Take the battery to Auto Zone for a check. As for the gas gage you would have to drop the gas take and replace the unit, a tough job not wore the hassle. Just keep the tank full.

Furnace won't kick on

Downstream of your fan discharge there is a little plastic assy. most likely that will have a pickup tube and a piece of vinyl or latex tubing attached. First check to make sure that the pick up tube and/or tubing does not have a restriction. If it is clean use an ohm meter to read resistance across the switch to verify it is operating.

Gas burner doesn't work

Gas burners serve as the primary source of heat in a variety of home appliances: water heaters, gas dryers, and gas cooktops and ovens, and-of course-- furnaces and boilers. When the burner fails, most gas appliances are designed to stop working altogether to prevent a gas leak. As a rule, it's best to have gas burner problems fixed by your gas utility service person or a qualified heating technician, but there are a few steps you can take to avoid paying for a service call.
