Question about Canon PIXMA MP600 all-In-One InkJet Printer

Open Question

Canon Pixma MP600 cannot connect with bluetooth BU-20

I have had Canon Pixma MP600 for about a year, using it via USB with no problems, and just got the BU-20 bluetooth adapter. I have a MacBook Pro running OS 10.4.11 with bluetooth capabilities. this should be an easy connection, but so far all I get is disappointment. I have reinstalled all software, updated all drivers, and done everything that Canon Tech Support (they were a big help... not.) said to do. I have done every imagineable configuration and I got nothing. The bluetooth assistant sees the printer, but then tells me that the "configuration failed" and "printer driver is not installed".

Somebody, anybody... anything you've got on this... throw it at me.
Thanks!!!!!

How do I connect canon mp600 to wifi?

According to the quick setup manual, this printer supports only bluetooth. In other words it is not a wifi printer. In order for you to be able to print on it with a wifi device like a tablet, you will need first to connect your printer with a usb cable to a computer that is connected to your wireless network and then you will need to share the printer on the local network. During the installation process to the connected computer, you should be asked wether you want to share it or not with the network. Simply answer "yes"

My new canon printer MP620B will not print from my wireless notebook unless connected by cable how do I make it print wireless?

I could not find much specific info regarding your MP620B. However, the MP600 series of printers support wireless "snap and print" from an infrared-enabled mobile camera phone (when held within 8" of the printer - max. jpg size 3 MB) or wireless printing from a compatible Bluetooth device with the optional USB Bluetooth adapter (max distance approx. 10 meters - may vary).

Please check your manual for more information.

Cell phone Compatibility with BU-20

For information on setting up a Canon printer for bluetooth, go to this link. In the search window in the center of the screen, type "bluetooth" and click the Search button. Select the "how do I print directly from a PDA. . ." and you will find directions for setting up the printer. Note that your PDA or cell phone must be compatible with the OPP or BIP protocols. (Check the specs on your unit.)

Printing wirelessly to a Canon MP600

1) you need it to print from a laptop if you do not want to have to set up another computer, and mobile phone have bluetooth buit in
2) YES
3) set up the printer on another computer, and set it for sharing. Then make sure that you laptop is recognized in the network connections wizard, then on the laptop select add new printer and select the bullett that say a network printer. the rest is pretty easy, select browse for a printer or something, it is the first option, select it, say yes to all dialogue boxes, and let the computer do the rest.

Try different USB ports on the computer to see if its a porblem with the port connection and if there's no change there then try using another USB cable that you know is working perfectly fine.

Bluetooth

My MP500 has a normal flat USB plug in.  Turn off your printer and just try plugging in a normal USB cable into that slot...You can use the printer cable if you want. Haven't rec'd the BU20 yet, but don't think it will be a problem.
