Question about RIM BlackBerry Bold 9000 Smartphone
HOW CAN I STOP GETTING COPIES OF MY SENT MESSAGES AND EMAILS IN BLACKBERRY BOLD?
To understand the subject fully, i may have to be a little techno here. Please excuse me if i become too technical. (Try to read the whole email till the very last)
This whole system works on two protocols. (POP or IMAP)
POP (Post office protocol)
IMAP(Internet Message Access protocol)
The problem that you are facing is because you are trying to access an account which is not on a Blackberry Enterprise Server.
You are trying to access a Gmail account. Gmail uses centralised IMAP accounts. (If you make a change on the same account anywhere, it will be mirrored everywhere). GMail never provides their POP and SMTP addresses publicly. (otherwise, you could create an HTTP Based pull (That is another way of downloading your email using a web browser. This way you will not receive a copy of your email that you opened on PC.)
Our fellow friend "Genyus" gave you a part solution. This way, at least you will not get a copy of sent item in your computer but this will not stop the copies of emails to come to your box that are even clicked accidentally or opened by you on your computer. (this can happen to any older items even year old if you just happen to click it and leave it open for some time.)
Honestly speaking, Technically there is a limitation to do this. As BIS automatically recognizes the Gmail server and never allows to do manual configurations.
Unfortunately, in the absence of certain factors, Its not possible till date. May be someday we can come across a solution for this.
I just wanted to update you about this as Sometimes we cant have all.

@ arelin: You can resolve that with the following steps:
And you should now be freed from receiving your own sent messages.

Open the menu.
Click on Options.
Click on General Options
Scroll down... you will see "Hide Sent Messages".
Change that to "Yes"
