Thinkpad Lenovo - suddenly no internet

How do you connect to the internet? Are you going through a wireless router or using a usb device provided by a cellphone provider?

Maybe you need to check your settings on the broadband service since you mentioned it. You could also reinstalled the broadband application if it is not solved.

I just replaced the screen on Thinkpad X61 and now my wireless is not working. Did I damage the wireless antenna?

This is Lenovo Support, and the manuals download page for the ThinkPad X61 Notebook PC,

If you do not have the HMM, (Hardware Maintenance Manual. Or also stated as a Service Manual),
click on -
Hardware Maintenance Manual - ThinkPad X60, X60s, X61, X61s

On the next page under the heading File link, click on the blue -

It may take up to 30 seconds before you will see the first page, and additional time may be needed to fully download the file. (Suggest you download the file all the way before looking through it)

(Took 35 seconds to download the file just now. No additional time needed. Using Adobe Reader 10, {X}, and a medium speed DSL connection)

Page 84 through 86.
(The page number in the page number box at the top of the PDF file. {Right of Down Arrow}
Not the actual page number itself)

1) Did you make sure the two antenna leads are connected to the Wireless LAN PCI Express Mini card?

2) Are the leads connected properly to the card?
Card in position, and front of laptop facing you the Gray lead goes on the Left side (Connector), and the Black lead to the Right side (Connector)

Page 112 through 114.
Did you reroute the antenna cables (Leads) properly, on each side of the LCD screen's metal frame?

The cables can be damaged by stretching, or becoming pinched. You may not see the damage readily.
The outside sheath of the cable can hide internal damage to the wire within the cable.
Test each antenna cable with a multimeter set to OHM's. (Continuity check)

Spacebar on IBM Lenovo ThinkPad X61 came off.

I took mine off to clean under it and had a similar problem. After a bit of struggling I figured it out. I will try to explain it as best as I can, but forgive the non-technical language:

There are two gray plastic pieces on the space bar that must be that must be latched to the two white plastic pieces on the computer. The gray pieces pop off the space bar easily. Take them and put them on the white pieces on the computer so that the white arms lay across (and snap into) the top and bottom of the gray piece. The middle of the gray piece will sit in between the two arms that are not "holding" the gray piece. Then take the space bar and put the metal part into the hole on one side (outside of the plastic pieces) and then push it over so you can put the opposite metal part into the other side. Then push the space bar straight down and it will snap into place.
