There is no color

Hello
Please try the below mentioned process to troubleshoot the issue.
  1. Set the Wii console to output 480 lines of video.

  2. While on the Wii Channel Menu (main screen of the Wii), connect a Nunchuk to Wii Remote.

  3. Select the Virtual Console game from the Wii menu, then select "Start" to begin the game.

  4. When the game starts, press the Home button on the Wii Remote. (In many games, the music can be heard when the game starts.)

  5. Select "Operations Guide" from the Home menu.

  6. Press the Z + A + 2 Button simultaneously (the Z Button is on the Nunchuk). A sound will be heard if the button combination has been entered correctly.

  7. Close the Home menu. The game display should now be correct.

Trying to hook up a dvd and wii with direct tv and can"t get sound out of wii! HELP Can you show me where to plug cords in?

Your TV has two sets of AV inputs. One on the side and one at the back. The Wii has a 3RCA cable ( Yellow / Red & White ) . Connect these jacks to the corresponding color sockets on the side input of your TV. Select that input on the TV and your Wii sound and picture should come on.
For the DVD player you have to get a 5 RCA component cable. This cable will have 5 colored jacks, connect the White & Red to the Audio in of the TV and then connect the Red/Blue/Green jacks to the component video input of the TV.Do the same at the DVD's end also. Setect that source on the TV and you should hear the DVD sound and picture.bobhifi_31.jpg

I just got a new 46" vizo & dont know what ports to plug my wii into? i know the cords are red white & yellow but not the ones on the tv. totally confused.

Many large HDTV's will have alternately colored slots to enable 5 connector HD cables. You can plug the Red White and Yellow cords into non-matching ports (green, black, etc) until you have color picture and stereo sound. This will not damage your TV or Wii. You can also buy cables for your Wii that will match the connectors on the back of your television, as well as give your Wii higher resolution capabilities. Which you can purchase at any electronics store.

My tv does not show my wii in color

It sounds like a cable connection problem. Try pulling the video cable out of your Wii and blowing where it plugs in (on the Wii). If you can, wiggle the wires while they're plugged in and the Wii is on to see if any color comes up.
If all else fails, replace the cable.

The Wii turns on and will take a disk but nothing shows up on the tv screen.

Make sure that the cord from the console is secure in the Wii and the three colors are plugged into the T.V. in the same color plugs. There is a Yellow for picture, white and red for stereo sound. You probably need to access the TV menu and change the "input" to whatever your Wii is plugged into. For example "A/V 1" or aux.

No color

Most likely one of the cables are loose or not even connected to the back of your tv. You might want to check.

Good luck! :)

Try to change the settings on your Wii to play in 480i or 1080p witchever your tv is.
It sounds like a easy system configuration adjustment. Check both your Tv settings and if your using HD on the Wii try using just R/g/b (red, green, blue) wires. I would belive that the settings on your wii or your tv arent correct, just play around with these settings with the wii hooked up and on.
GOOD LUCK let me know if their isnt anything more I can do. MORE DETAIL CAN HELP YOU OUT because their might be 1 small thing you didn't do and can cause this.

There is no color or sound with my Wii. What do I need to do to get color and sound?

Is your tv set to show color? Is it a monochrome TV? Are all of the cables pushed in all the way? Make sure that you have the cable on the Wii pushed in all the way, then make sure that you have all the cables connected properly, all of them are connected to the "Input" slots as follows: Video(yellow) to Video(yellow), Red(right audio) to Red(right audio), White(left audio) to White(left audio). If it still doesn't work, try connecting it to another input on your TV, as the current input may be faulty.
