Question about Fisher and Paykel Fisher Paykel Intuitive Eco Washer IWL15

1 Answer

Fisher and Paykel clicking sound

Our Fisher and Paykel Ecosmart makes a clicking sound throughout the wash cycle. It sounds like a playing card stuck between the spokes of a bicycle tire. Machine continues to run and wash. Rinse and spin cycles have no clicking sound. Any suggestions of what the problem could be?

It sounds like the bearings are going out as it spins faster the noise quietens down because the bearings are more spread out and as it slows they fall lower leaving an area that it causing "friction" of a kind

Without being smart...buy a new machine. It sounds as though the timer is dying...therefore slowing down...therefore extending cycle times. If that's the case, a new timer will cost about half the cost of a new machine.

Code 1 - usually means on the later models of Fisher & Paykel is a faulty Motor Control Module, often though one would have to replace both as well as the display module.

Anyway - it sounds like the electronics are overheating hence the intermittent problems you are experiencing.

the play in the tub in normal, it sounds like you have an over sudsing issue, run an empty load with 3 cups of vinager in the tub, set the water temp to hot, cut way down on soap, if you use liquid dont even fill the cup 1/3 of the way, I know this sounds dumb but try it, I have one and this happened to me

Washing machine makes buzzing noise

Check the water pump for an obstruction in the chamber area, your pump may be sticking and that will cause the buzzing sound. The water pump runs during the fill portion of the cycle on several of the selected wash cycles to recirculate the water.
