Printer troubles (HP F380), connecting via USB to Maxtor NAS

Hi, Please can anyone shed some light on this one: I'm having trouble getting my notebook to recognise the HP printer on my Maxtor Shared Storage drive. It should be simple and the manual sayz it should just appear on the drive, but nothing happens. Please can you advise if they aren't compatible and how I could perhaps work around this so we can share the printer over the wireless network. I've gone through all the troubleshooting/help topics and all the basics have been covered. Thanks, Casey

Can you log into the Storage Router? The question is, where can you see the printer? If you can see it on the Router but not on the notebook, the problem is with the Router... if the Router sees it fine, you may have a presentation problem. Let us know.

I try to connect DLINK dns 323 to WD TV by USB cable but it not work how can i solve this

The USB port on the D-Link DNS 323 NAS is for a printer only. It won't work with your WD TV. Your best bet would be to plug the WD TV into a PC that is connected to your network along with the D-Link DNS 323 NAS and serve your media files that way.

Just got a Maxtor MaxAttach 4300 used and need to reset to factory...

Since no one has posted on this I?ll give you my best guess. Disclaimer, I don?t have one of these, Maxtor is now owned by Seagate, they have discontinued support and I can?t find a manual. Having said all of that from what I?ve read this runs Windows 2000 server and allows you to physically connect a keyboard, mouse and monitor to it. I would try connecting these external devices to the box, boot up and try logging in. If you literally don?t know ANY of the passwords you can try booting the system with a utility tool that will find and remove the administrator password. There are several of them readily available (usually Linux based) available for free, here is the link for one: That will allow you to log into the operating system and configure it as you wish. Be aware that this is not supported by Microsoft and could wind up corrupting the operating system. At that point the only option would be to rebuild the server software from scratch. Good luck and let us know how it goes or if you have any other questions.
