Step 2: If the PSN is online, use the PS3 Internet Browser and try to visit any website. If you can, your Internet service is running correctly, go to the next step. If you cannot there is an issue with your Internet service. Click on the type of connection below for troubleshooting steps.
Step 3: Try accessing the PlayStation Store. If you can, this means that the PS3 can connect to the PlayStation Network and the issue is with the game. Try contacting the software publisher for additional assistance.
Hello Get the name of your router manufacturer and find out how to log in using a pc and the internet. Or you can go on your pc and go to start run and type cmd. Then hit enter.
A box will pop up.Type ipconfig then hit enter. The ip address should be listed there.Something like 192.168.1.0 Type that number in your browser and log into your router.Username should be admin and password should be either the word password or admin.Again check with the router manufacturer.
Once you log om to the router make sure upnp is checked off and also get your wma or wep key and enter it into your ps3. Once done restart ps3 and you should be connected.
The PlayStation Network is down at the moment. Sony Entertainment is working on this. There is nothing wrong with your system. Disreguard any codes you may have until you have confirmed that the PSN is up and running in your area.
From the PSN - "While we are investigating the cause of the Network outage, we wanted to alert you that it may be a full day or two before we're able to get the service completely back up and running. Thank you very much for your patience while we work to resolve this matter."

Hello. The modem doesn't matter if you have a router. Go into your internet browser (Explorer or Firefox) and type in 192.168.1.1 into the address bar and hit enter. This will open up the settings page for your router. Here is where you click on wireless settings and set up your security. Good luck and thank you!
It depends... If you use a router for the Internet then you don't need any cable, just turn on the router and then go to the PS3 and configure the PS3 to work with the router. If you have wired internet, then you will need an Ethernet cable, but since the PS3 comes with an Ethernet cable, you don't need to buy one. With the Ethernet cable, you have 2 options. If your modem has an Ethernet port, then just connect the PS3 to the modem directly. If the modem doesn't have an Ethernet port or direct connection won't work, then you can use Internet Connection Sharing to connect your PS3 to the Internet.
