Question about Sony Singstar 80?s with Microphone for PlayStation 2

Disassemble Singstar Microphone

I am after instructions for disassembly of singstar microphone. One of the (flimsy) wire connectors has failed. Wish to strip unit down and solder and re-assemble.

Thanks -but I worked out disassembly.

( below will require a soldering iron. note the points below must not be relied upon as the only or correct way to disassemble a singstar mic. These are provdied as a guide only. Any person using these points does so at their own risks and in using them accepts full liability for any consequences and absolves the writer of all liability.

    1. Remove screw on base of microphone.

    2. Slide out cord with cord bolster, needs a little twist to line up lugs.

    3. take care to remove hex nut located on cord bolster- keep aside.

    4. You will see that one or both of 2 x wires have seperated. Note that solder join is very weak.

    5. Wire length isn't too bad so a "gentle" tug with dolphin nose pliers should pull through some length to enable re-soldering. Take care if you wish to expose bare wire -do not use a stripper- use a sharp knife/ trimmer - gently.

If not enough length go to "6" below.

    6. Top of mic unscrews -left to loosen.

    7. mic head is housed in a rubber coupling which is losely glued.

    8. Gentle (GENTLE!) pull on rubber updwards with pliers will free- work around the edge.

    9. Whole assembly wil lift out. You can then solder additional wire length.

    10. Re-assemble
