Dishwasher runs doesn't clean - Dishwashers

Dishwasher doesn't do a good job anymore. Lots of food particles still on the dishes. Purchased 7-2003 and is now 3-2009. We've got a Maytag QuietSeries 200.

In our case, the output of the dishwasher goes into a black tube which then goes into the under-sink area and ***UP*** to the sink's garbage disposal. This alone has me pretty concerned, since some pump needs to be strong enough to move all that water and gunk up to the disposal, and I suppose there's also a chance that **** from the disposal can go down this tube and into the dishwasher. Or that stuff just sort of lingers in the tube and mostly its just the water that makes it through.

I never went to plumbing school, but I'm thinking the right way for this device to work is to flush straight down like a toilet, not to try and push stuff all over the place against the way gravity wants it to move.

If your machine has the collapsible tower in the center of the bottom spray arm, it may not be operating properly. While the machine is running, quickly open the door to determine if the tower has popped up. (You might see it collapsing when door first opens.) If it pops up, it may not be sitting straight, which means the water is then not shooting up to the funnel of the arm located under the upper rack. (Your upper dishes will certainly not be cleaned well if this is the case, even if there is enough water to wet them.) Now open the door after running the machine 15 seconds to determine if the arms are moving. If upper arm is not rotating, you can be sure there is not sufficient water feeding into it. If the lower arm is also not moving, you likely don't have enough water in the machine to begin with. After about 5 yrs, the hot water can expand something inside the water intake valve (a washer?) which then blocks the flow of water. This was our problem and was very easily replaced.

Maybe its build up inside the dishwasher. A solution to this is to run one of the avaliable products for cleaning out the lime/scale/crud inside. Just because it looks clean doesn't mean that the hidden pump and lines aren't either partially clogged.or almost blocked. Is the hot water at 140 degrees? If not then the element inside may be attempting to heat the water to that minimum setting, If this doesn't help then I'd look at replacing the timer.

How do I ge to the pump filter to see if is clogged

electrolux_154547901-001.png This is a basic blowup of your machine. all of the parts that you need to check are inside of the dishwasher. the dishwasher strainer catches any food or material before it gets to the pump system. make sure that it is clean, and as above, make sure there is no food particals in the long wash arms. If your machine is draining into the top of you garbage disposal, make sure it is cleaned by running water through it with it running for about 15 secs.. If this doesn't help, msg me back and I will go over some simple other items with you, before you tear it all apart.

My dishwasher doesn't seem to be washing the

Water Inlet Valve

A dishwasher's water inlet valve is its most common part to fail. When your dishes are not being fully cleaned, quite often a faulty water inlet valve is to blame. Test your dishwasher's water inlet valve, and if it is no longer functioning as it should, you will have to replace it.

Upper or Lower Spray Arm

Your dishwasher has a lower spray arm. It may also have an upper spray arm at the top of the dishwasher. These spray arms are designed to shoot high pressure, high temperature water at your dishes. It is possible that the holes of the spray arms, where the water comes out, are blocked with debris, affecting wash quality. You should inspect your dishwasher's spray arms regularly. Clean out the spray arms as need be.

Heating Element

Water temperature is a key element in achieving clean dishes. A dishwasher's heating element is not designed to heat the water that enters it. Rather, the heating element is designed to maintain the heat of the water that enters the dishwasher. Its a good idea to run the hot water in your sink for a couple of minutes before you run the dishwasher. Just to make sure the water is nice and hot before it enters the dishwasher. If the water is unable to stay hot, it can adversely affect your dishwasher's cleaning ability.

Filter/Drain Grate

There is a filter in your dishwasher. Its function is to keep large particles of food and foreign objects away from the pump. Many of the newly-manufactured dishwashers have self-cleaning filters, and routine cleaning isn't a concern. However, some other dishw ashers need to have the filter removed and cleaned regularly. If the filter or grate is clogged or blocked with debris, it may interfere with the normal functioning of your dishwasher. Consult your owner's manual for specific directions for removing your dishwasher's filter and cleaning it.

Detergent or Detergent Cup

It could just be that you aren't using enough soap to completely wash your dishes. Your dishwasher may be designed to dispense soap at two different times during the wash cycle. If you don't fill all of the detergent cups, then the diswasher will lose a cleaning cycle. Also, if you use a gel-type detergent, try switching to a powered kind. Powders tend to dissolve better in hot water. And don't buy in bulk. Detergents are most effective in the first two weeks. After that, they decrease in potency.

Alternatively, your dishwasher's detergent cup could be defective in some way. It is possible that it is gunked up full of built up detergent, and a thorough cleaning may be enough to get it working again. If that doesn't do the trick, you probably need to replace the entire detergent cup assembly. If your cup isn't even opening, please see our section My dishwasher detergent cup won't open.

Bosch SHU3305 keeps running and doesn't clean dishes. Soap doesn't release.

you may need to replace the soap dispeser assembly which includes the solenoid that operates the lid.

See this diagram part 13. You may be lucky and it could only be the lid spring that is faulty. In which case you do not have to replace the whole assembly.

Good luck..
