MVX3Oi canon camcorder not recognised by Vista Premium

Everything was fine wth xp. upgraded to vista and camera was not recognised. Import video came up a couple of times and imported some video then cut out on me. I have just installed a Vista compatible Graphics card with 512 mem and a further 1gb of ram. Still the same problem. Firewire drivers are fine and so is my canon software. Assistance in this matter will be most appreciated.

SOURCE: ISO S100 software driver for Vista...

If still not working from camera to computer, then take out the camera's card and insert into a Card Reader.

From the Card Reader, connect that lead to USB of computer. This will open up, if you know which driver is the Card Reader. Once known, just double clicks and the computer will do the rest. Then save then in Drive C or give it a name to a New Folder.

SOURCE: Sony DCR-HC38E Exporting miniDV video to computer

I had a similar problem with my Sharp camorder.
The preview window on XP simply displays corrupted images.
At the end, I bought a different firewire card and it worked for me.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Need a software driver for the DV5300SE compatible with Windows Vista

I just came from the Mustek website, there is no mention of your cameras there at all. It is almost like Mustek never made them. I am seeing companies claiming to sell a Mustek DV5300SE camera on the cheap tho. Is it possible that these are rebranded cameras?

Canon mv700

Hi

I have had this camera for around 4 years now. It works fine. I basically plug in the firewire connection on my camera switch it on to playback/camera mode then plug the other end into to my computer my operating system picks it up fine without any problems. It doesn't require any drivers windows will auto install any drivers it needs. Not sure why you are getting this problem.
