Question about PNY Optima 2GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive - Dark Red/Amber
What have you done to these photos, accidentally deleted them or formatted this flash drive?
No matter what you have done to these photos, you can try my ways to get back everything important as below:
Step1. Stop using this flash drive in case that any new file would rewrite your original photos.
Step2. Insert this flash drive to your computer and prepare to restore your photos.
Step3. Download a hard drive data recovery freeware to your computer and start to retrieve all your deleted photos back:
In fact, this freeware has ever successfully saved all the inaccessible data of my friend off from his external drive. So, I believe it can also work successfully on your flash drive, too.
Simply read more information of this freeware here:
Step4. Save and back up all the restored photos on a different drive in case of data recovery failure.
Note: Next time, you'd better back up all your important photos on different drives in case of the similar data recovery problems.

I had the same problem once upon a time with a PNY CF card about 4years ago after I photographed an entire football game for an article Iwas doing. Everything I did kept telling me that the card was corruptedand I never could retrieve the photos. Someone told me to use a better card so I have never used a PNY cardagain and consequently have never had the problem again. Stay with SanDisk Extreme or whatever high end card you can find and you'll be much happier.
I know this is the "Close-the-barn-door" approach to not losing thehorses after they have already escaped but I have a possible solutionto rescuing your photos trapped on the card if nothing else works. Lookfor a card retrieval program on the internet. There are free ones andthere are pay ones. Free is worth nothing and the others are worth morebut start with free if you can find one. The one I used was atcardrecovery.com (which wasn't free) and supposedly can even pull photosfrom damaged cards as well. I accidentally formatted a card beforegetting the photos off and the program retrieved all of those plus manyothers that were previuosly on it, all 39,000 of them, and it was onlya 4 GB card on a 8 MB camera! I think it was around $60 for the pay version but it justdepends on how valuable your photos are to you on that card. If yourinterested here's the link:
There is a free trial download offered but I don't know how many photos you have on the card so it may not get them all off.
