The service guy changed the front panel of our dishwasher due to a recent recall and since then the Electronic panel is acting up, e.g. I get the "3 seconds" light steady/flashing. Earlier, the dishwasher stopped working altogether. There is a cover that goes around the electronic panel. Make sure your service guy puts that back in correctly, or as it happened to me, the circuit board gets wet and causes shorts and other problems.
The 3 second flashing light is a lock that locks out all other functions. To disable, depress the 3 second light for 3 seconds and all the functions will be released. This feature is to use to keep little kids from starting the appliance.

Re: "3 second" light flashing
Pard, does your serial number end with either WS or WU? If so, Maytag had a issue with the main board, triac shorting and possibley damaging the motor windings. If your serial numbers fall under this, you are probably covered under the service flash. Im not really sure what you mean by the 3 second button flashing. Check the numbers first and post back. Console light blinks rapidlyThe control detects a stuck button on the control panel.A failed control panel or a malfunctioning electronic control board can cause this code. Check the buttons on the control panel using a volt/ohm meter. In most cases, the control panel must be replaced. If that doesn't solve the problem, the electronic control board might be at fault.

Dear Friend, It's a serious issue what I understood & confusion is control panel locking facility not avail in this model, how its locked?.. Simple method to catch the faulty part through power LED behaving s..(Power led located on power button)
# LED is OFF - This indicates that the Power Supply Unit is completely dead. Try the following: 1 Check that power cord is connected correctly to the Printer and to the Power Socket. 2 Replace the Power Supply Unit # LED is ON (all the time) - This indicates that the Main PCA is completely dead. Replace the Electronics Module # LED is Flashing - A problem has been detected with the previous firmware upgrade. Try re-send the firmware upgrade file. # LED Flashes twice every few seconds - The Printer cannot detect the Interconnect Cable. Try the following: 1 Check that the Interconnect Cable is connected correctly to the inter connector PCB & Electronic module. 2 If the Interconnect cable is connected correctly and the LED continues to flash twice then replace the Interconnect Cable LED Flashes 3 times every few seconds - The Printer cannot detect the Front Panel. Try the following: 1 Check that the Front Panel is connected correctly to the Interconnect PCA. 2 If the Front Panel is connected correctly and the LED continues to flash 3 times then replace the Front Panel LED Flashes 4 times every few seconds - This indicates that the Electronics Module has failed. Replace the Electronics Module LED Flashes 5 times every few seconds - This indicates that the Electronics Module has failed. Replace the Electronics Module. Now U decide that whether firmware uploaded properly or not?..if not its sure that Electronic module gone.. you have 2 replace it.. Any further help/query pl reply, best of luck..
I have the same problem with the lights flashing on the control panel.
It pops up every 4 or 5 months. The only solution I have found is to
press the delay/resume button one time then press the drain/off button
twice. You may have to hold the keys down for a couple of seconds.
This seems to reset something in the panel. Make sure you haven't
pressed the 3 second lock button or it won't work.
holding the button for four seconds will not do it, you have to hold it until the light stops blinking and
will go back to normal, normall takes more than four seconds to unlock the unit, this is something
the sears repair techs know becouse the are trained on all this things but, they will not share this things, becouse thats how they make money
When doing some floor work, I had taken off the front bottom panel of the dishwasher and there was a pamphlet which had electronic information. Dummy me threw it away, but I remember it had code information on it. I am now having this flashing light problem. So check behind the front bottom panel (remove the 4 screws to get behind it) and the piece of paper should be in there. Please let me know if you find it!
Hey Jim, if your model starts with 665 there was a service flash on this unit concerning your problem. SF-22-715. Dishwasher stops in mid cycle. The control board was redesigned to eliminate this problem. The service flash states that if only one indicator light is blinking it's usually a stuck or shorted keypad. I would check with Sears and see if you are covered under this service flash. Catriver...post back.
