Recently got a LCD tv from friend but no manual. Mum accidently went into menu and has wiped out most of the digital channels which had been tuned in including 7 and 9. How do I get them back as we dont have a manual? its a LG 26LC7D model can I see a copy of the manual on line?
Thanks

I ended up just trialing numerous different things in google and eventually got a manual which was close enough to solve the problem. Thanks for the encouragement this site gave.

HDMI input works ok. Hooked up external antenna. Did channel scan. It will only scan for analog channels. Has analog raster on screen. It has no information on menu page for digital channel scan.

do you have the air option in the scan menu see
http://tv.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/sanyo/dp42841.html
page 9 important fact cable digital gets wiped by air digital channels

You may be able to get around this via a digital hd tv decoder box and then have it on a hdmi input on the TV as a backup to the cable if you can't have both cable digital channels stored and aerial digital channels stored

I lost a few digital channels on an old LG LCD, tried to auto tune but could not retrieve. Followed a tip online that said to auto tune with the antenna cable which will wipe all saved channels, once...

hi your signal could be to strong, on the aerial cable the thin brad rap 4 strands around the center solid pin then retune in auto, if this does not work you may to manual tune it in, or get someone to check your aerial and you could try a firmware update on your tv hope it helps

I have accidently gone past the automatic tune function when 1st turning tv on . How do I manual tune?

I think you mean perform the channel scan function. Every tv manufacturer has different wording in the menu, but basically this is what you would do:
Press Menu, then go to Setup or Installation menu (wording depending upon mfg).
Select antenna or cable (wording could be air or cable)
Perform channel scan

Hope this helps as you didn't mention model.

I know this tv has digital capabilities, so i don't need to get the digital box, what do i need to watch my local channels? i have directv but does not include local channels (ie. fox, abc, nbc).

Hello

To tune the local channels do the following.

1 Press the MENU key on the remote control to
display the Main menu.

2 Use the CURSOR "UP" or "Down"
keys to highlight
Manual Channel Search. Press ENTER.

3 Use the CURSOR "Up" or "Down"
keys to select Cable,
Air (Antenna), or Digital Add-On.

After the search is complete, the HDTV will exit the
menu system and return to normal TV viewing.

IMPORTANT FACT: This HDTV maintains only one database

of digital channels. Therefore, when you search for

cable channels, the database of antenna digital channels

will be deleted. You will only be able to receive those
ClearQAM channels your cable company provides.

NOTE:"Not available" will appear on the screen

when an option is unavailable.

Since the changover to digital I have lost channels 5 and 28. How do I restore them?

Hi jpw1162, have you tried re-tuning you DVB tuner yet? from the menu button on your remote, maybe in settings, setup, configuration or as in mine, installation. I hit "First Time Setup", and that wipes all previous channels, and loads all new.
If not that's the obvious answer, and like one of my TV's, that didn't work, I had to dig out an old signal booster, and stuck that on, and now its fine.

Not able to get digital channels

A lot of "digital LCD TVs did not have a digital tuner. All you can do is channel up and down through the normal analog channels. You may still have to get a convertor box or subscribe to a cable or satelitte service.

Check the Find Manuals link below on fixya.com or if you can't find your model, you can also check www.retrevo.com for owners manuals and specs.
