Question about RCA OPAL M4001 MP3 Player

1 Answer

RCA M4002 mp3 does not turn on.

I plugged my RCA M4003 Opal to charge but when I looked later the player was reading "USB Trasferring" instead of "USB Connected". I was not doing anything and just plugged the player into the usb port. I disconnected the player and now it will not turn on even after I pushed reset. I put the Opal into the USB port again and it still says "USB Trasferring". Any Solutions.

I tried to play a video on my mp3 player and it froze up. So I held the menu button for 10 seconds until it turned off. When I tried to turn it back on it wouldn't come back on and the mp3 player was fully charged. I pluged it into my computer and nothing happen.

Download the latest firmware upgrade from www.rcaopal.com to restore the player. The firmware upgrade file will be on the "Download Upgrades" section of the website.

Hi, How do I delete music from my Opal M4002 mp3 player?

if you want to delete music from your Opal M4002 mp3 player, all you need is use the usb of the player and connect to your computer. If the computer recognizes your usb then a folder will pop up and you choose open folder. Then you can right click on the music you want to delete from the player. That is all you have to do.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

I am not a tech but I am not tech challenged. If you have not had this device that long and still have the reciept, TAKE IT BACK. I am on my 3rd one and these things are not very well made. The first one I had the screen got lines in it and started turning black around the edges in about 2 weeks. The second one I had developed the problem you are having talked to tech support at RCA their fix was "That's strange I never heard of that happening before". Walmart took that one back. This one actually lasted a few months but the screen started blanking out, music still played however. Two days ago I charged it when I disconnected it from the computer it came on. I shut it down to use later. It has not come on since. Contacted RCA who's fix this time is if you have the receipt (I do not) send it in they will take a look at it (you pay shipping). If you have no receipt then ship it back but they will charge $55.

You need to actually get the newer software/drivers from the RCA website and THEN it is compatible - they are not explicit in the FAQ about this.
