Question about Intel Motherboard

1 Answer

Intel DP35DP Motherboard spdif connection

I have the above motherboard along with a Nvidia Geforce 9500GT 512MB Video Card with HDMI out. In order to use the audio side of the HDMI, I must connect a two wire spdif line to the card and to the spdif connector on the motherboard. The problem is that I cant find the two pin spdif audio connector on the motherboard. My only spdif choice is a nine pin audio connector that I don't want to just try open pins with. Can anyone advise me the correct pins to use from the nine pin connector that will allow audio to be fed to the hdmi out on the video card?

COMPATIBLE GRAPHICS CARD WITH P5GC MX/1333 ASUS MOTHERBOARD. Whether 1 gb card can be fitted

Yes you can put a 1 gb card. The motherboard has PCI Express so you don't have to worry to much. The older AGP cards are almost gone.

You could buy a GeForce 8500, 8600, or 8800, or the 9 series. You can also buy a Radeon HD 5870 or 5570.

If you need further assistance, please post. And do not forget to rate.

Hi, Before doing anything please refer the motherboard manual, and as per my knowledge you need not solder any pin on the board, if you do so may be something else might not work. I better suggest you to check the Manual before doing anything.

S/PDIF Location on motherboard

if you look at the manual

http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloadfile&dno=3989&type=manual

it states that there are SPdif ports, I cannot see any hookups on the mainboard for these, however if you look on page 26 of the manual you can see that there is a coaxial output SPdif and an optical SPdif out, you should be able to connect to those without any problems

hope this helps
