Look closely on the front of you cd drive for a small hole, about 1mm in diameter. This is the emergency eject button. You'll have to use a needle or a paper clip, push it in slowly, increasing pressure when you hit the button inside. The spring will open the drive just a little, then you can just pull it out. Hope this helps!

Manually eject disc

Wow, great device kudos on it still working. As for the eject - look for a pinhole which you can insert a paperclip into if it is a tray loader.

Dvd will not eject

Someone is going to have to open the unit and LOOK to see if disc jammed or out of position---it is possible in that case to gently with a Q-tip etc to move it a bit back and then unit may work.

Look only to see what is happening when you try to eject first.

Our mds-je440 is not ejecting the disc, it's not coming up far enough to eject it

Your loader is probably worn out, or you jammed a disc into it. Take off the cover, then take off the loader mechanism internal cover to remove the disc.
I paid $250+ to get a loader rapaired professionally on a JA3ES and the repair did not last, I migrated to units with loader trays like the 20ES and the rare 50ES.
Probably the best thing to do is to get another similar deck since the prices have fallen on most of these units, they are readibly available with anything you could need for minidiscs on ebay. The decks are more popular in Europe and Japan than in the USA.
I recently had to buy a loader belt for a stuck loader tray on my 20ES, it will only work with the right sony band, your unit has no bands, so when the loader is bad you need to replace the entire loader mechanism.
Most MD parts are available on eBay Germany, most sellers routinely ship to the USA.

Qx56 2004= trying to load a disc but when inserting about 1" of disc in, system said push eject. I pushed eject but then system switched to FM mode. Now I cant switch to CD mode when push CD button....

Sounds like that the cd is jammed inside the players so you could either take the player out the dash and open it up yourself or take it to a dealership/repair shop for them to fix it for you.
Also there might be a small holes located under the cd slot big enough for a pin to release the cd manually?

There is a disc jammed in my cd player and the tray sometimes opens and closes but wont bring the disc out

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Locate your CD player’s manual Eject button. It is usually a small hole located underneath the CD drawer.

Use a stiff wire, a paper clip or safety pin—into the hole. Push gently and the drawer should open partway. Gently pull the drawer the rest of the way open.

Remove the CD and see if there is a problem with it. Most CD player drawers get stuck when a CD is warped or the label is starting to peel. If the CD is warped, discard it. If the label is peeling, remove the label.

To open the CD player top to remove the cd/CD manually--

  • Unplug the CD player and take the outer casing of the CD player off. This entails either taking out two or three screws or simply sliding one of the pieces of plastic in either direction.
  • Locate the disc loader cover. The disc loader cover is located where the extending CD tray finally comes to rest within the CD player. It’s the part that holds the CD loader in place.
  • Bend the two tabs outward that hold the loader in place. This is a delicate procedure because you don’t want to hurt the device. The tabs are relatively easy to break since they're plastic in most cases.
Points to remember while performing above steps---

 Before you remove the CD player cover, try turning the device off and then back on to see if the disc will come out after the machine has rebooted.
 Use the opportunity while you have the outer casing off to clean the lens of your CD player.
 Never work on an electrical device that's still plugged in.
 Opening a CD player may negate the warranty. Read your warranty carefully before you proceed.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

Mostly The cd is jammed between the laser sensor and the cd rotator.Try removing the audio player and reseting the whole device if possible.Or if you have sufficient technical know how.Open the player try to manually open the disc tray.and remove thedisc. This can happen even  if the disc is broken inside the player.
