Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5100 All-In-One Printer

2 Answers

I bought my printer for printing pictures and until now the printer has been great, but a few days ago the quality of the pictures being printed has gone down. I've changed out both inks and still have this problem. I haven't changed any of the printer settings. How do I fix this issue?

when I bought my computer it worked great but now the pictures are really light and yellow .I have changed the ink twice and still no change.I'm not sure how to change the settings on the printer but as far as I know there are no viruses on my computer and I have a virus detecter.

I have 2 5100 printers and both gave the same problem, one shortly after the other. Call Kodak they will replace the print head at not charge and send a supply of ink for your troubles. The customer service has been top notch. According to the person I spoke with the print heads have been upgraded so hopefully a recurrence will not happen.

You might have a virus that changes your settings. You need to change the settings to the maximum quality. And buy an antivirus with real time protection like BitDefender or Norton.
You can buy BitDefender at this site online:

I have an x6150 and it had been working fine. I ran out of ink and replaced the cartridge not too long ago. I printed a few items (not much) and all of a sudden when I hit print, it acts like it is...

Print quality issues could be due to clogged or dirty print cartridge nozzles. Try the steps below to improve print quality on your Lexmark X6150 printer:
  1. Load paper in the All-In-One.
  2. On the printer operator panel, press Copy.
  3. Press Options until Maintenance appears on the display.
  4. Press the right arrow until Clean Cartridges appears on the display.
  5. Press Select. A nozzle page prints, forcing ink through the nozzles to clean the clogged nozzles.
  6. Print your document again to verify that your print quality has improved.
You may also try to insert a different known working cartridge to determine if it's not a cartridge issue.

Espon 1400 prob. with vista close the cd/dvd guide. It is CLOSED!

I am having the same problem. I am on my 3rd printer from Epson in 2 weeks.
The solution may be to buy another brand, but I have more in Epson ink & paper than I have in the printer.

Help please

When printing you should go to the properties dialog box and check the quality setting that your printer defaults to. You'll probably find options to print either custom, fast, standard or high - you'll probably also be give a choice of paper type to print to - photo, etc. You may or may not be able to make these settings your defaults from now on but most likely you will have to set these at the beginning of your print sessions.

Bad photo quality after changing drum

your laser printer
1) print color quality is now distorted that means print skew (technician called)
2) print tint means the print color not enough density,
3) print mottle means print dirty
you may try
1) print distorted--- find out the skew adjustment from your printer manu, it is adjust the image before transfer to the drum.
2) print skew could be happened when the drum replace install not very accurate, so install it more carefully.
3) print tint---you may increase print density from the manu, not fix,
4) print tint---the toner caridge near life cycle or using the less compatible toner. so you have change the quality toner or cartridge (if near life cycle) to improve quality photo print
5)print mottle---toner quality ? or cartridge near life cycle also cause print dirty paper,

Photo prints are very dark and muddy

Hey,

I also have this problem. I even have prints that were made when I first got the printer about 2 years ago, which looked great then and now, and the EXACT same picture from the same program prints incredibly (unusably) dark.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Photo print quality Canon i860

You might be running low on toner or ink. In this case check out the ink/toner capacity left. it might even be a faulty cartridge if bought new, or a faulty printer, but it doesn't sound like it.
