thank you for the advise. Your answer was correct. If you could be more specific next time on where to look for these issues would be cool. At anyrate, thank you much. IC was faulty

I've got a thin red line from top to bottom on my 42" Plasma NEC42VP4G/S(Australia) too. You mentioned that it was a problem with the IC - how was this problem rectified?? Do I need to take it to be serviced, or can I fix it myself??

    Thanks

Blue verticle line is displayin

The blue line is most likely the result of your monitor's screen going bad. One thing you can try is disconnecting and re-connecting your video cables to make sure it's tight and has a good connection. This probably won't help, but it's worth a try. You may also want to connect the monitor to another computer to see if the blue line stays, or goes. If the blue line stays with another computer connected, the problem is inside the monitor. If the line goes away, you should replace/repair your computer's video card and/or cable. Otherwise, you need to replace/repair your LG monitor.

Thin red line in middle of screen on nec 42 inch plasma monitor

I had the same problem -red, vertical bars along the right side of my Samsung 42" Plasma- and this is what fixed it: Removed unterminated cable.
I had hooked up an HD video camera to the set about two weeks ago. While I disconnected the camera I left the other end of the connector cable plugged into the T.V.. As I've since learned from friends who work in television, this is what's called an "unterminated cable" -meaning one end is unconnected. It can lead to problems with electrical interference and appears to have been the problem in this case; When I disconnected this cable from the T.V. the red bars went away.
So, check your cables. Make sure everything is properly connected and get rid of anything that might be picking up interference.

Red line

The display cable in your LCD monitor must be replaced.

If you are feeling adventourous then you can look on ebay for a display cable to install but I do not suggest anyone open up a monitor (LCD or CRT) who is not "technically inclined."

If you can get the part then I would take it to a local Tech to replace it.

Bright, thin line, in the middle of the screen, then...

1. I turn on the monitor, I hear a 'cracklin' sound
Reply: In a CRT Monitor there is a component called EHT which generates High voltage which is connected to the anode of the CRT, If there is any leakage due to moisture can cause this crackiling sound, You need to clean this high tension wire or replace the EHT ( CAUTION : BE AWARE OF HIGH VOLTAGES )

2. The screen only shows a bright, thin line.
Reply: The vertical Drive section of the monitor is faulty.

Unfortunately the LCD is going faulty.. one or more of the "Driver" transistors that operates the LCD elements RGB, have faulted ON.. perhaps this link may help fix it. Otherwise :( http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Stuck-Pixel-on-an-LCD-Monitor
