I'm hooking a 50 amp plug to this dryer , i have 4 wires the old 1 has 3 my colors are black, red, white, and green from left to right which way do they go on

Hello. I can assist you. first of all, please do not use a 50 amp plug on a dryer. A dryer requires a 30 amp plug. The plug you are using is for an electric range or oven. The black and the red wires are both hot wires. The white is neutral and the green is ground. read the device it will say LINE and LINE for the hot wires and neutral for neutral. It should have a green screw on it for your ground [green].

That wire flopping around is probably the ground wire and needs to be hooked up, it's probably grounding out the power for the control.

Need to install a 4-wire/ prong dryer cord strain relief assbly

The green wire attaches to the dryer cabinet. There should be a green screw in the cabinet for attaching the wire. If not, you can always drill a hole for a ground screw.

The loose green wire you see is the reason the code was changed to a 4-wire cord.

Changing my dryer cord from 3 pronge to a 4 pronge. how do i hook the cords to the baqck of the dryer. brand name is a frigidaire

on 4 wire, red and black is hot, white is neutral and green is ground. On terminal block out side terminals are hot and center is neutral, ground connects to green screw on cabinet. if your current connection has a white or green/yellow jumper on the ground term move this to the center/neutral connection with the white wire. only wire to be on gnd term in gnd wire. hot does not matter which side as long as it doesnt touch anything else and not on center term.
Difference in 3 and 4 is a dedicated ground, on 3 wire dryer was grounded through the neutral.

What type of powercord and outlet does this dryer require? Electrician installed a 220 outlet.

Fridgeidaire clothes dryer

I will try this again i don't think i posted it properly.
On the power cord where it connectes to the dryer make sure the red and black wire goes to the outside screws (L1& L2) the white goes in the middle and the green goes to the dryer cabinet.
If you have the red or black going to the middle one it will trip the breaker.
