It keeps losing the plot!

hi
if your device has not enough satts it wil not be able to calculate its correct position. when its loosing the plot you can have a look howmany sats he receives. if it are only 2 or 3 it can be the problem. what you can do to make it receive more satts, is go online with tomtomhome and load newest quick gps fix. thats a file with satt info for the next period of two months. it will search faster and know more satts. good luck.

All I have is a flashing signal that says waitig for valid GPS signal

Another thing to try:

Tap the satellite bars in the lower right corner. This will bring you to a screen called "Status summary." You'll see satellite bars on the right-hand side of the screen. Tap them.

This will bring you to GPS Status. Tap "Configure" in the lower left corner. Change the coordinate display to D.D (or if it's on D.D right now, change it to DM.M). Tap "Done" then "Done" again.

Has that fixed the problem?

Sat nav just stopped working today in perth wa, not picking up any sat signal. any way to fix this? is it my sat nav or the sats?

It isn't the sats. They're fine.

Try resetting the unit. Use a paper clip to press the button in a small hole on the bottom.

Try to reset the sats. To do this:

Tap the satellite bars in the lower right-hand corner.

Then, on the next screen, tap the satellite bars in the right-hand margin.

On the next screen, select "Configure." Choose a different configuration. Tap "Done," then "Done" again on the next screen.

Did that help?

Lost Memory Card for Route66 Sat Nav

Get the SD card for any comuter store, and after you have to install the nav software on it, which for some information regarding the unit I will sell it to you for a rezonable price

It will take ages to find a signal the first time it tried. Once locked on it should pick up the sats really quickly the next time you turn on the device.

If you turn it off completely (battery switch to off) then it will take ages again the next time it is turned on.

Hope this helps.

Garmin gpsmap 60csx won't acquire satellites

I found the solution that fixed my 60CSx. You need to make sure you have the latest chipset installed on your device. Go to

https://buy.garmin.com/shop/store/downloadsUpdates.jsp?product=010-00422-00&cID=145&pID=310

and download the chipset type G ver 2.9.

After you have loaded it on your 60CSx, you should be good to go. Just turn it on like you normally do and now you'll see your device retrieving locks w/ the satellites.

Let me know if this helps you out.
