Question about Fujitsu 18C1 Air Conditioner
SOURCE: Fujitsu Heat Pump - problems
I had the same problem. The heater did not work in heating mode. However it was OK in air-conditioning mode. The operation light and the timer light blink twice and then the operation light blinks for 5 times followed by few seconds non blinking, then the cycle repeats again. I have read on the internet that you better unplug the power cord and then plug it again so that the heater re-sets itself. My only problem was that my heater is directly plugged to the power with no visible plug. So I went to the main distribution board and put off the power for about 20 seconds for the whole home. HOORAY!! The heater worked after that.

Locate the manual, or the wiring schematic (usually located on the main cover panel inside for the unit.) and look at the flash codes.
This will tell you what the 5 flash and single flashes mean.
We can then help determin what needs to be done from there.

Testimonial: "Thanks for the advice. It turned out that we had a blackout after the AC had started playing up. The blackout seems to have sorted out the problem.Thx"
Below is an extract straight from the fujitsu service manual:
Compressor location error
The compressor speed does not synchronze with the control signal. (Including start up failure of the compressor).
> permanent stop.
Check if 2-way valve or 3-way valve is left open.
Check the compressor (Winding resistance value, loose lead wire).
Refrigeration cycle defective (Refer to after mentioned "refrigerant cycle diagnosis")
