Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Word .doc vanished

When a Word document file is corrupted, then you can try several methods to recover it:
1. First of all, you can try the recovery function integrated with Microsoft Word, as follows:
1) On the File menu, click Open.
2) In the Look in list, click the drive, folder, or Internet location that contains the file that you want to open.
3) In the folder list, locate and open the folder that contains the file.
4) Select the file that you want to recover.
5) Click the arrow next to the Open button, and then click Open and Repair.
The "Recover Text from Any File" converter has limitations. For example, document formatting is lost. Additionally, graphics, fields, drawing objects, and any other items that are not text are lost. However, field text, headers, footers, footnotes, and endnotes are retained as simple text.
1. In Word 2007, click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Open.
2. In Word 2010, click the File Menu, and then click Open.
3. In the Files of type box, click Recover Text from Any File(*.*).
4. Click the document from which you want to recover the text.
5. Click Open.
After the document is recovered by using the "Recover Text from Any File" converter, there is some binary data text that is not converted. This text is primarily at the start and end of the document. You must delete this binary data text before you save the file as a Word document.

I have had great success with the Word Recovery Toolbox application from http://www.oemailrecovery.com/word_repair.html
They have a free version you can try. I would suggest you run the deep scan in order to get the best data set to look through.

Try also to restore the file using this online service. I found it in Google. https://onlinefilerepair.com/en/rtf-repair-online.html

ALL folder turned into shortcuts and i really don't know how to get back my stuff. You know the hard drive has music shortcut document shortcut. Somebody help me.

You must have had them all selected and then dragged them somewhere, then maybe dragged back, creating shortcuts at that location. This could be done accidentally by holding the ALT key (or if that key is stuck down) while dragging them back or by holding the right mouse button instead of the left. If it was the right-button thing though, you would have had to also left-click on 'Create Shortcut' on the menu that popped up.

If this is what happened your 'real' folders will be wherever you dragged TO and the shortcuts will be wherever you dragged BACK to.

The fact that there are shortcuts is not alarming. Your originals must be somewhere! Use the Search function to search for any file or folder name you can remember. Start at the root of the system (My Computer) to search everything; it could take a while so be patient. When you find the missing folders just select them all and drag back to where they belong (or Cut from current location, Paste in new location).

My windows crashed after surfing the net. It started with a certain file: wmisrdp.exe want to do a download in a hidden way as told to me by my anti virus.. Even after clicking on TERMINATE, Quarantine it...

Click start menu then click search. After that when the search wizard is displayed, click all files and documents with that green arrow. When you click that, drive will appear below then choose, drive you want to search. when that runs normally with the search, try to open on My computer then click second partition hard drive to access to your files and folders.
Thanks.

How to recover data that was erased

You could try three ways here:
1). Try to unhide the back: Start > Run > Type in "control folders" > View > "Show hidden files and folders"
2). Try to clean the possible virus: Run your antivirus tools, such as AVG, AVAST and AVRIA, ERC.
3). Try to recover these files with the help of a data recovery freeware:
http://www.freeware-fix.blogspot.com/2013/03/wd-external-drive-inaccessible.html

Next time, always save your needed data at least on two hard drives.

Virus infecting microsoft programs

Its the W32/Rungbu-A virus, it infects Microsoft Word DOC files by copying itself to the same filename but with an .SCR extension, appending the DOC file to the SCR copy, and then hiding the original DOC file.

The W32/Rungbu-A then sets the computer not to show hidden files (in order to hide the DOC file), to give SCR files a Word icon (so the SCR file looks like a Word file), and to hide file extensions (so the SCR file just displays the filename, not the SCR extension). When the SCR file is run, the Word document is displayed as normal.

To recover your .DOC files just follow these steps:

You have to delete all files detected as W32/Rungbu-A.

Set the following registry entries in order to show extensions and hidden files:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
HideFileExt
0

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\HideFileExt
UncheckedValue
0

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
ShowSuperHidden
1

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\SuperHidden
UncheckedValue
1

You must change the attributes of the original .DOC files to stop them being hidden.

My answer to your second question, is in November of 2007 the .SCR file extension started to be used to transmit a Trojan. As a script or a screen saver this file can execute other files which carry the Trojan. The SCR file may be embedded within a ZIP file which could also contain a file with a double extension. Many Windows screen savers come with a .SCR extension by default. Usually these will be found in the Windows main directory. Use caution if you receive a screen saver file via E-mail. These files can contain executable code and can be worms or viruses. Note: This file type can become infected and should be carefully scanned if someone sends you a file with this extension.
