Question about GoVideo VR3840 DVD Recorder/VCR
When I power up my VR3840 Combo machine it says "please wait" and after about a minute then shuts down. I can't open the DVD door. I've tried to manually open the door as suggested in one of the posts but there is still no success. The DVD drive seems to respond to DVDs, but does not fully start up or show anything on the TV. PLEASE HELP!!!
Try running a DVD cleaner through it and see what happens. You can get one at Walmart for under $10. If that doesn't do the trick then take it to someone that can open it up to clean it.

SOURCE: DVD Door Will Not Open
may be the dvd is broken inside it ... just open it and remove the rubber belts connecting to the dc motor and then u can remove the door clean the obstacles near the door way and inside player if the dvd is broken means clean it clearly.....

Most likely either the door motor is worn out or it needs to be pryed open with a paper clip, pulled back all the way, and then hit eject button to see if it retracts.
