See this causes, and use the common sense. God bless you
When your dishwasher door has a problem, check these: Latch Springs Hinges Door seal Latch The latch on many dishwashers is adjustable. If your door is easy to close but difficult to latch, adjust the latch to let the door close more easily. If you can't see any way to adjust the latch, yours may be fixed in a certain position. Check for other reasons for the latching problem. If the latch has worn out in a way that makes it impossible for you to close the door properly, you probably need to replace the latch. Springs Your dishwasher has two springs that counterbalance the weight of the door. If either or both of these are broken, the door feels quite heavy and you need to replace both springs. Hinges The hinges are important to the door closing properly. If they're bent or deformed, you probably need to replace them. Once bent, only rarely can they be straightened well enough. Door seal If your dishwasher is new--or if you have just replaced a door seal--the door may be difficult to latch for a week or two. If the tightness persists, though, try adjusting the latch, if it's adjustable. If it's not adjustable, there's probably nothing you can do immediately. But try running the dishwasher on the highest heat cycle to help the seal conform to the door. Otherwise, the seal should compress over time.

My whirlpool dishwasher model # WDT780SAEM1 makes a loud popping noise when I open and shut the door. What is causing it and how do I fix it?

The loud popping noise that you're hearing when you open and shut the door of your Whirlpool dishwasher (model # WDT780SAEM1) is most likely caused by the door gasket. The door gasket is the rubber seal that runs around the door, creating a tight seal when the door is closed.
Here are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Check the gasket for damage: Inspect the door gasket for any tears, cracks, or other damage. If you find any damage, you will need to replace the gasket.
  2. Clean the gasket: Over time, debris and food particles can accumulate on the gasket, causing it to become stiff and not seal properly. Clean the gasket with a mild detergent and warm water, and then dry it thoroughly.
  3. Check the door alignment: Make sure that the door is properly aligned and not hitting the gasket when you open and shut it. If the door is not aligned properly, you will need to adjust it.
  4. Lubricate the hinge: If the door gasket is in good condition and properly aligned, the problem may be with the hinge. Try lubricating the hinge with a silicone-based lubricant, as this can help to reduce friction and noise.
  5. Contact Whirlpool: If you have tried all of the above steps and are still unable to fix the issue, contact Whirlpool customer service for further assistance. They will be able to provide you with additional troubleshooting steps or advice, or they may need to send a technician to repair or replace the dishwasher.
It's important to note that if the popping noise you're hearing is accompanied by other symptoms, such as leaks, then it may be related to a different problem, and you should contact Whirlpool customer service or a professional service technician for further diagnosis and repair.

Whirlpool dishwasher door will not click shut to allow washing cycle to start

Check to be sure the gasket that is between the unit and the door is in its proper palce, it may be knocked out of its normal spot and keeping the door form closing all the way where the latch would engage.

Door springs

If the door won't stay shut the issue is with the door catch not the door springs, But if you want to know where the door springs are you need to remove the outer cabinet of the dishwasher and you will see them on the lower sides.

Dishwasher was on...while on I noticed a small banging noise..then it seemed the door wasnt shut tightly so I pushed it in...the washer stopped ..it wont restart and I cant open the door

Most door catches also incorporate a switch that stops the machine when you open the door. In "over closing" the door you may have "gone past" the switch which would likely make the controler think that the door was open. Try giving the door a firm but steady pull to release the mechanism.

My belling dishwasher wont start, the lights are on but when I press programme the red light no longer skips along the options , it simply doesnt appear.

Hi just trying to solve a similar problem. My machine would turn on but would not fill. It could be that your cold water filter is blocked. If no or reduced water pressure then the machine will not operate correctly. Take off back panel and you should see the filter assembly. GIve this a clean and see what happens.
We have 14 of these dishwashers and so far they have all proven to be very reliable machines. This is the first issue in 4 years.
