I changed the fuse and it still will act like it dont want to do anything. i checked it with a multimeter  and i was getting power after the fuses but it still  does nothing. I have no clue what it could be. I dont believe the problem is the fuse as of now i think that there maybe something else wrong does anyone have any suggestions

the three guns that the lenses drive operate at 28kv.
there are very high and dangerous voltages in a tv set.
you can look for the fuse main pc board by the power cord..if it is black, there is a major short.if it is just barely blown, change it.
the fuses are 3ag glass type and just pop in. use a set of rubber gloves and insulated pliers.. tvs are DANGEROUS

Can you find out what Led is not on or which comes up and goes out? Most of these sets have convergence problems. Or Power Regulators.

SOURCE: Hitachi 51F510 with NO POWER

Something is preventing the power supply from operating:
Possible causes in order of likelihood:
1) Convergence amps failed overloading the supply (See if you can disconnect them)
2) High Voltage circuit has died. (Right on schedule since your TV is 10 years old)
3) One of the CRTs has shorted
4) The power supply itself has died (Is there a lot of dust covering it?)
See if you can isolate the failure by working down the list.
Hope Ya Fix it!

Tv wont turn on

Check the ff:
1. Power plug - for open internal wire due to frequent bending, pulling.
2. Try to power by remote - if power up by remote then you have a faulty tack switch.
3. Replace Internal Fuse - sometimes because of power surge the fuse fail. However if the fuse blew again this is an indication of shorts.
Next step is not Diy because of the ff reason
3. Voltage regulator - might be open or shorted.
4. H-out transistor - shorted
5. Open fusible resistor in line with the B+.
6.Dry joints

Tv does not turn on after a thunderstorm and several attempts at power returning to the home. The power went on briefly then shut off several times, now the television will not turn on. We had the tv...

Check the main fuse in the power supply, the TV also has small surge protection devices (MOVs) installed after the fuse, any surges the come along and big enough will cause the main AC fuse to blow. When you surge protector, EVERY connections must go through the surge protector, for example, the AC cord of the TV is connected to the surge protector, the cable connection did not go through the surge protection, the surge then can get to the TV through the cables.

We didnt have a surge protector on our tv we purchased from home shopping net. and lihtning came in the line and i guess hit our tv can it be fixed or is it worth fixing price wise i hate to throw it away...

Look at the power supply module, most of them will have a surge protection devices (called MOV, same as used in common surge power strip but cannot handle big surge that power strip can handle) installed to protect minor surge, it should blow the fuse. Once MOV blown, it will more likely stay short circuit, if you put the new fuse in it will blow the fuse right away. You need to see if the MOVs blew up any sign of blown up components.

No power on Samsung TV after storm

Hello Zkarim,

I'm very sorry to hear about your unfortunate new's. I had the same problem in my own home maybe a week ago.

Basically if your power flickered on and off at anytime during this storm then there was a power surge that probably fried your TV.
* First check the power where the tv was plugged in. Is it a power strip or a surge protector ? Surge protectors typically have an on/off switch and a separate reset push button.

If it is a power strip then the tv fried because there was nothing to stop it from happening (not even the fuse). If it was plugged into a surge protector then it could be quiet a few years old and not as reliable or the surge was to powerful for the limit on the surge protector.

The only thing you can do personally is send it in for repair if it's under warranty, if it is not then you can have it looked at by an authorized repair technician in your area. Troubleshooting should be fairly low, and you will at least be able to find out your options once they find the defected part.

Thank you for choosing Fixya!

Hitachi 50GX30B 50 in. Rear Projection...tv won't turn on since electricity went off & on

I have worked on several of this model for power surge damage. Usually what I find is a blown fuse, a shorted regulator i.c. and possibly a blown bridge rectifier(diode array). On rare occasions you can solve this problem by replacing only the fuse, but if the fuse blows when you plug the set in, you will more than likely find above mentioned parts have failed. The best thing to do is to call a repairman but if you have an ohm meter you can test it yourself:1.Unplug set and remove rear cover.2.Get spotlight and look closely at where power cord connects to circuit board.Small glass fuse will appear black if open usually.Otherwise, test for continuity, or just replace it.3.After replacing fuse plug power cord back in while looking at fuse.If you see an instant flash, fuse blew again meaning you will need to obtain parts in power supply and solder work will be required. That is probably as far as I can take this other than saying that you might first want to look at underside of circuit board to determine if major surge damage has occurred. If it has you will immediately know because it will have burn marks all around a/c power supply. I hope this helps, Russmann.

Power Surge at Home

This time it came in on the cable, the clue was the cable box also blew. So if you had a cable surge supression device...for HDTV, I think you would have survived the second surge.

I do have the technology. It is a F-connector type and will handle HDTV signal.

Fuse location on tv

a fuse is a small glass tube about 3/4" to 1". it is located near the end of the power cord inside the tv. it is located in the power board supply circuit. there are several reason why fuse blew up. 1. sudden surge current/voltage in your area 2. shorted in either power supply or horizontal deflection circuits. when replacing fuse, be sure to change it with the same value. but if after replacement has been done and the fuse blew again, there is a short in the circuit as stated in reason no. 2. refer to a qualified service technician if you are not inclined with this job. good luck!
