Question about Sanyo DS27930 27" TV

1 Answer

Power Issue no power whatsoever is reaching my TV. One day it randomly just did not power on. Also, the famous clicking noise is completely gone as well, this leads me to believe it is a power supply issue. When inspecting the board, no transistors or capacitors or fuses seem to be blown. everything appears to be in normal condition. No change was made between the last working time of the TV and the failure of it. It simply just won't power on anymore?

Re: Power Issue

I've seen bad switcing transistors in the relay drive circuit but really not much to go on here, the possiblities are numerous. Probably need a PRO look

I plug in the tv and i hear the power reach it, but when i go to turn it on the button on the front does not work

I believe what you have is a solenoid that goes bad and is very famous for this especially RCA's . The little solenoid up by the power button on front of the tv is where it is located ,a lot of times you can tap on it and it will work if it is just stuck if it is dead than a tap wont do it. Get one at the appliance store or the tv shop thats honest and you can just wire it in yourself. You can wire around it but you better know what you are doing.
What happens is the little sound like a click when the tv comes on is the sound of the solenoid cliccking,Ive also seen people get it working without the solenoid (wire around it and use a outlet remote to turn off and on the tv. Good luck

Sanding plasma tv make clicking sound and no picture

The ' clicking noise ' and no picture is highly suggestive of ' power supply ' on this set.You need to open the TV and have a look at the power supply board. If you find any of the caps being swelled / bulged / leaked, you need to re-solder the new one. You could get the caps from radio shack or fry's. In few cases, you might need to test the voltage and replace the power supply board. This is not an issue with lamp or color wheel as they would never cause ' clicking sound '.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

No picture 2 days ago power went out thru out the neighborhood, once power came back TV worked great. today, go to power on TV, here it clicking, but no picture... cable box working, cable working in 2nd...

It sounds like there`s a sort on the secondaries of the power supply. Before the power went off, did you ever turn the tv off by unplugging it?? In other words, did you turn the power off completely to the set or leaving it in standby?? if you always left it in stby, it will be the capacitors in the power supply, they dry out if the power is always on, so they will need replacing. If you did turn off the power, then I think you`ll find that the power cut had nothing to do with the fault you`ve got now, it will be the Line Output Stage which has failed or gone short circuit. My tv doesnt turn on but it has a clicking sound

Hi, this clicking sound is coming from the power supply board. this Board accepts the power stream from the wall outlet and regulates it with capacitors and resistors and transformers etc.. when these components are malfunctioning or damaged, your unit will make these clicking noises.

Simply replacing the power supply board and fly back, if installed, will fix this issue.

Please rate and have a great day:)

TV went out

Hey Jim, The high voltage protection circuit has gone out on the D-board and will need to be replaced. The fuse to the power supply is probably fine. A good repair tech shouldn't charge over $125 for this and it only takes a couple of hours. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
